That's the thing about the internet isn't it. You can make anything up - it's all just words on a screen ultimately. It's telling though that it's this particular moment he changes his story, because I think even he has twigged that the previous story in which he sits out of the market and wins by paying rent for years is no longer tenable. You have to understand that Geneer is a serial loser who comes online to become a winner. There's no point at all in attaching himself to a story in which he's demonstrably a major casualty of bear doctrine. So we have this ridiculous half way house where he's not only bought at just exactly the right time, he's still hoping for falls in prices (to differentiate himself from the bulls I suppose).
I mean this is someone so dense he thinks that overpaying cash into an asset he expects (nay hopes) will fall in value when interest rates are floored is a sensible strategy. And that the market for buying is insulated from the rental market rather than being part of a closed system.
Occam's razor time. We can either believe that the pink strawberry scented one timed the market to perfection and then for some reason decided to spend time pretending he hadn't while predicting all sorts of carnage, or we can believe he's a fantasist who is making it up as he goes along to make himself look good. I know which one I believe.0 -

I'm with you on this one. As for the rest of your post, I couldn't have put it better myself. I reckon that if house prices do crash significantly over the next couple of years, he'll be able to say that his purchase was all a joke and that he telegraphed this by leaving heavy hints such as his new 'winking' avatar. "See, the wink appeared when I said I had bought a house, it could not have been any clearer that I was just winding you all up and exposing your Bull meme and astonishing lack of self awareness, gibber gibber".0 -

Mischief and trolling on a successful and epic scale.
Mischief, yes. A sense of humour is important.
See above. :rotfl:
Trolling...no.
Theres a lot of untruths told about me Cleaver, mainly because it suits the constructed narrative. #
You claim to be impartial in the bull/bear divide. If thats the case I'd hope you see the truth in this.
Geneer is a troll, says Heathcore, Rinoa, Pimperne1 & Hamish.
Althought the same posters tore around GHPC and CC for years frothing about Edinburgh statistics, creating downfall parodies etc. They cared very much.
Geneer is an Uber Bear says Renovation Man.
Well actually no. Geneer made the decision to buy in 2009.
Geneer expected house prices to fall round 35% (real + nominal), a fairly mainstream view.
If the keyboard warriors would just pause for breath they might reflect that that pulling apart their arguments using logic, or turning their arguments against them, doesn't require a particularly bearish "belief system". It just requires some thoughtfulness and consideration.
Its quite amazing that in their concerted efforts to have a go at me,
some have been willing to ignore or indeed contradict their own regularly repeated assertions.
It seems the reality always gets lost in the legend.
And the legend depends on who's doing the telling.
But do you know what, I'm no uber bear, never have been.0 -

Proof that geneer is actually a millionaire!!!!
An actual screen dump of his actual bank account!
I bet you are all showing an astonishing lack of awareness and you are hitting a wall of frustration now that you know that geneer is so rich and not the complete loser we all thought!!
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh lordy, this is priceless, comedy gold.
