i am just pointing out it is usually when people start showing resistance that they threaten them with sanctions.
Resistance to what? Just turning up? LOL That's all they get me to do! They are 100% usuless and a total waste of time and I have told my working friends all about it and they are none too impressed that this is what's happening to me and their tax money!

I was expecting more help from my advisor, as Im not classed as "job ready" so I thought she might have more intensive plans for me. What exactly, I dont know, but I suspect because Im off to college anyway, she isnt really too bothered to be honest!
while them spending little time with you can be seen as an example of uselessness you need to realise these kind of courses are useless fullstop. so the less time spent with them the better.

I think we are all fully aware it's a total waste of time but we want answers and I think we should be entitled to them!

It is not about working for free it's about getting a job and like I have said on here before I was asked to write a list of companies I wanted to work for (oh yes I did tell them anyone!) where they had this list for TEN weeks and did nothing with it till I chased them three times asking what was happening and they then said they didnt realise I was looking for accounts work nor did the person who was doing all this calling have a copy of my CV!! After waiting for 6 weeks with nothing heard I contacted all the companies on my list I had given the WP and heard back from a few where they have kept my CV on file so when I went back to the WP the other week I was told there was nothing now they could do with the list since I did their job for them so I said 'do you want another list, I have 30 more companies', to which the reply was 'no we have far too many lists to look at'!! LOL
you are missing my point. employers are only interested in approaches from providers when they can get free labour for 6 months. that is why there was no shortage of placements under new deal and why they cant find anything for people now. some of the problems you have had seem specific to either yourself or your provider.

they would sanction you if you didnt turn up. dont let anything make you miss an appointment even if its a good reason.

But they are not looking for a 'placement' as the WP is not about placements they are contacting employers looking for real jobs, you know like an agency does only this will be with no fees as the WP can provide the candidate for free and the WP get paid from the Gov.

IF you think they are meant to be looking for free work placements how do they do that? She couldn't even contact a list of 23 companies I had provided her with in TEN weeks!!

Why would I not turn up? Funny they don't sanction themselves when I was sent away last year as my appointment had been cancelled and they never told me then got 'lost' in the system for 5 mths.

yes and that is exactly why they get no joy because employers will quite happily take people for free from a scheme(like new deal) but they arent interested when it comes to employing people who are on a scheme(work programme).

Why are you talking always about free placements? I am talking about companies who are advertising PAYING jobs! The providers work like agencies. They have people called BDC officers who contact companies who may be advertising REAL jobs with salaries and see what they have on offer.
