do you get referred back to the wp after a certain amount of time?
    :footie:
  • I was talking to someone from Avanta who said that the work program isn't fit for purpose and isn't working. He got out because it was so bad.

  • When the WP 2 years ends the claimant will be blamed for not getting work. There will be absolutely no chance of the provider or the DWP taking the blame or any responsibility.
Mark Hoban has promised a very tough regime immediately following for claimants. of course if this is all it takes to get someone off the dole (which of course is a euphemism for cutting their benefits and leaving them in direst poverty as this government is happy to do) then one wonders why we are paying these shysters billions to achieve nothing.
In fact it's worse than doing nothing.

someone who works in a jc posted recently and i believe they plan to send people on community work 6 months after leaving the wp. this makes me wonder if they are winding down the wp if they are in no hurry to send people back. it means providers will get alot less people through the doors. i guess it may help them make their figures look better.
  • I got a response to my email! They said that as I started the job while on the WP I can get support from them until the job finishes.

so if you are still there in 20 years time you can get help from them. cant see it myself. there must be a time limit of some sort.
  • In all honesty the JC looked at my account on UJM and all they did was look at the activity history to see what dates I entered stuff, they didn't even read what I had typed as one entry related to the day before!!!
They expect to see you have been on there every day, but searches don't list on your activity log, neither do saved jobs!!! I don't see what the point is really, but I haven't spoken to my advisor yet I have on signed once.

I asked my JC advisor whether I will be sent back to the WP at the end of this period of harassment at the JC and he said the WP hasn't worked but the Govt. are in a contract they cannot get out of

he told me the JC did not expect anyone to come back to the JC after the 2 year expensive WP cure-all with these wonderful professional recruitment companies

Basically the WP was just a money making racket run by companies who didn't care about getting people work

the JC are now improvising because they made no plans for people returning to sign on - my advisor's exact words were "we are literally making this up as we go along"

Hence the different signing procedures from council to council across the UK

I'm hoping they will see that treating the claimants as the ones needing punishing is not going to solve anything and we all go back to fortnightly signing

The are now saying only 1000 people will be put on Universal Credit as an experiment because it isn't realistic and way too radical plus the £34 million IT system has crashed

I need to get as far away from this whole mess as I can
