but they can mandate u to register and create an account on universal jobmatch

Again wrong ray. There are several reasons why they cannot mandate you. They've tried to get me to register but I'm still not registered, and won't be any time soon. :D

Very much the case in reality ray1971. Please read the FOI in full, then you can talk from an informed position.

Unfortunately the FOI report is not considered nor mentioned in the DWP JC guidance at the moment and probably never will be due to the reasons I mentioned before.JC staff nationally ARE referring WP completers to MWA.

JC staff can, and do regularly mandate claimants under a job seekers direction to create a UJ account.Failure to do so MAY result in a sanction.Mandation instructions were given to all JC staff March 2013.

ray you're either being deliberately obtuse or you're a Jobcentre mole. The FOI response is the Official line directly from the DWP, backed up by referenced DWP regulations. I can't make it any clearer.

I accept your point that the Jobcentres are mandating people to MWA but that doesn't make them right! The onus (as ever) is on the individual to fight their own corner.

here the wp providers give a session for leavers telling them what to expect and one of the things they say is you must sign up to ujm. they also say you must be contactable via a phone number.

Not the case in reality Im afraid.WP completers are being referred to MWA in their droves, so much so that the govt has pumped hundreds of thousands of pounds into getting new employers sign up.A spell on WP is not an exclusion reason for not being referred to MWA.JC advisers are now stockpiling their MWA referrals as demand far outweighs supply at the moment.
Lovely steady supply of free slave labour, until it blows up in the companies & government's face, just like with Tescos & Poundland.

well youll never guess the cheek of her today, i had an appointment at 9.20am my bus was late, they know i rely on buses, i was 4 minutes late got in and said said she wrote me down for failure to attend, the day before she kept me waiting 16 minutes. couldnt belive it, she still seen me but i really wanted to say something but didnt.

ive also noticed something else, when i go in and let the person at the front know im here, they like to keep me waiting but if i just go in dont let them check my name of, in other words just turn up and look at the jobpoints, they are usualy on time, they come up instantly to check with the front person to see if i sihgned in like they are desperate to put me down for failure to attend. im gonna test this out and not let them know im there at the front, because they have to come and check, then you go over and say yep im here now you have to see me now. ive got em a few times doing that. i never get there early as they allways keep me waiting and it !!!!es me of

never be late you're playing into their hands if you are late. it may not work for you but one thing i have done in the past at places where i sign in is to always put that i was on time even if i was a bit late. for example start at 9am arrive at 9.04am but i would still write 9am. i often see people look at the clock when they sign in to put the exact right time. i think why bother. so long as you are signed in and the time you put doesnt get you into trouble then it doesnt matter if its exactly correct.
