    Just found this https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/144199/sbwa-employer-guide.pdf

Cant see how they are going to train someone with 20 years experience already who is AAT qualified and managed a team

And what companies with one vacancy go to the JC for this service?

No big London firms would at all and I bet its only local companies that the JC deal with, not all on London.

DWP guidance states that SBWAs are not available for WP clients, only JCP clients.

Most WP providers have links with training providers (private & colleges) and employers to provide the same thing, just not called a SBWA.

What if you do not need training?

What if the WP provider have NO contacts with employers.

I have asked at mine time and time again about this and I have been asked to write many lists of companies Id like to work for yet nothing comes from it. It is a total waste of time.

You need to ask the JCP if you can join their sector based work academy scheme then u r guarenteed a job interview, so in answer to ur question yes the JCP can enforce employers to give job interviews via the SBWA route.
why would anyone want a guaranteed interview. you could end up just going to loads more interviews. any interview that doesnt result in a job is a waste of time.

Any interview isn't a waste of time, it gives valuable experience for those who haven't had much interview experience.

SBWAs have guaranteed job interviews from local employers in that sector which would be for actual jobs for successful candidates. This would follow specific training in that field (such as hospitality, care, retail, administration) coupled with a work placement to get some experience. Unfortunately they're only open to 18-24 year olds but those that get places and are successful go into sustained employment which can only be a good thing.

if you can use the experience to improve yes and if the reason you arent being offered a job is down to your interview technique.

I can assure you SBWA's are running in all JCP offices as all offices have targets for filling them .U need to ask who ur adviser is when u next sign on with ur adviser assistant. All JCP claimants have to be assigned to an adviser.

ray1971 says they are available at all JC yet fails to tell us then they are only available for the under 24's and those NOT on the WP yet we are on a WP thread here so.................

I wonder if ray1971 works at the JC?

You are all still missing the difference between INDUSTRY and JOB FUNCTION
