no one mentioned walking at all the poster on here said about walking and it taking 90 mins to go 5 or so miles.0

To update they have NO policy on travel refunds and they do not even know who would know this if they did have. Aske me to contact my office where I attend then I sent another email and whey hey advisor number NINE called me to tell me I was now seeing him and I asked about travel refunds which he knew NOTHING about so had to put me on hold and go and check.
My review has now been changed to a date when I can claim travel but still not happy they do what they like and the people who will not speak up will be out of pocket. We’ve had to remove your signature. I attend the Ingeus in Bradford and all I can say is its a complete waste of my time and governments money!
The advisor I have seen for the last 2 months has not asked me for any other information other than my jobsearch details and my bus ticket .........
ITS A LOAD OF CRAP!Total Earned in 2013 for Online & Mobile Activities: £830 -
I have been on the Work Programme for just under two years and it has been no help to me whatsoever. I have had several different advisers, all telling me different things, many changes to my c.v., all different, many changes to speculative and application letters and many changes to spec email, which is pointless as far as email goes because the companies just delete them!!
Last week, I was ordered to attend an interview with a care company and when I arrived I then discovered it was a training course company to enrol people on NVQ'S .
I actually have a degree and thirteen years work experience, so presumably I am work ready. When the woman spoke to me, I told her this and she said "Can we forget about the degree?" Apparently, from what I understood the government would then pay for me to complete the NVQ so I said I was not prepared to do this, after three years and a five figure debt. She then informed me that I would have to pay for the course myself. From what I understand I should not have been sent to this meeting, yet another waste of time.
But when you think about this, she was actually encouraging me to defraud the government. This is the second time that I have been sent to one of these training programmes. But because I have a degree I cannot enrol on them, because I am work ready and have been for twelve years. I am curious to know if anyone else has had a similar experience? LOL!!!
Pretty shoddy behaviour by the adviser. And a shockingly bad level of service from the provider. Do you remember this woman's name?
If i were in your boots I'd make a formal complaint. Yes it may lead nowhere in terms of improving the service. In fact it probably won't. However, it would let them know you are not to be ****** around with!0 -
I have just read many posts on this thread and people do not seem to know about claiming travel fares.
When you attend the job centre you are expected to pay your own fares. When you attend your training provider they will pay travel costs and also any other visits they require you to attend, including interviews. To claim, you must produce tickets for bus, train etc and complete/sign a form.
Hope this helps as there seems to be a lot of people who do not know what can and cannot be claimed from the different training providers.0 -

I am another 'victim' of this so-called Work Programme. I have not been on it long but I can tell you now, it is a waste of my time and their time. There is absolutely nothing I can do to improve my chances of finding a job. I can tweak my CV till the cows come home, but my CV is not the problem. I can take their shoddy money saving advice, but honestly... when you're living off JSA, what money do you have left over to save anyway??
They make you feel like YOU are the problem. Okay, so maybe some people are struggling more than others and need that extra help... but believe it or not, some of us without jobs are fully competent enough to do it by ourselves. We're not all time-wasting benefit scroungers and with the lack of jobs available to go around, why do I still feel ashamed to say I am a Jobseeker? Maybe it's partly because they make you feel like you should be.
Thank you for this post, I totally agree with everything that you say. I also feel the same, they treat us like criminals and it is just a complete waste of time. We have to remember that this was all caused by bankers and incompetent governments and we are all having to suffer the humiliation, degradation and embarrassment of being treated like dirt. I am well qualified for a job and have twelve years work experience behind me but since the recession, most of the jobs I am applying for have up to 150 applicants. How is this my fault? There is a definite lack of jobs!! Everyone needs to remember this is happening through no fault of ours. Best wishes in finding a job.0
