What is the job of the work programme? To find the unemployed a job or to support the unemployed and provide them with the tools to find a job?

    Genuine question.
If my provider is anything to go by the answer would appear to be neither.

    Neither lol

If you have had a job long term and lost it due to redundancy there is nothing that they can do for you.

They have no contacts to get people interviews at all.

Its a waste of time in my opnion.

It is only geared up to the lowest person on the list yet meant to be tailor made and thats a lie.

Went for my review on Monday - arrived 15 mins early and my advisor (the 10th person I have seen but not seen him yet) is working on RECEPTION!!!!

I sign in to see someone else who seems to have THREE people all at the same time and sit and wait. And wait..........and still waiting.

Their systems go down - they then get them back up again and its s l o wwwwwwwwwwwwwww

The bloke comes over and says we (on his list) can go home and he will do our review and we can sign when we are next in.

2.5 hours wasted for nothing! What a joke!!!!!

Off back there tomorrow so some 20 something can tell me how to set up job email alerts!

Ah to top everything off just had a call from the JC to tell me they have also booked me in for a group session on Friday at 8.30 for all people who go to this provider! No idea what its about but due to last 45 mins or so.

Anyone on the WP been called the JC for a group session after being on the WP over a year?

Do you think they want our feedback??

I am due to go back to my provider in the near future after my probationary period was terminated, from what I was told by my adviser at the time i was still on it, I can't help you as you have everything in hand and know what to do.

I was fortunate enough that there was a bloke specifically employed to make contact with agencies and the company actually running the work programme was part of a group which also included an employment agency. I only ever had a few shifts of work from that agency and after a few crossed words with their consultant was blackballed by them for any future work.

ALL providers have a person called a BDC Manager who are meant to get business and jobs but hey that is not happening for me. The idiot woman asked me 'would you work in London' and I thought it was a trick question! LOL

  • The only jobs going at the one I was forced to attend were shockingly PPI reclaim positions (self employed, commission only). They were offered to people as if they were the best jobs ever, the whole thing is a sick joke.

Is there anyone over 25 on here who has been on jsa for over a year and not been forced to go on working programme.

My brother is on jsa and its now coming up to a year since his claim started.

I was called in, not by the JC, but by my provider to give feedback on the course. Safe to say that I, and everyone else called in, said they're were c**p. Amusingly I received a card from them thanking me for my feedback.

i find most people just tell them what they want to hear in these kind of situations. i watched part of the parliamentary debate on workfare the other day and a minister was saying how most people who have been on workfare say they like it and got something from it.

They are all deluded in government and especially ids with his great think tank ideas on how to get the unemployed working for their jsa etc. Their very fond of the word most and discretion government and JC+. Unfortunately for them i tell em like i see it,ive been on the WP 19months and ive found it to be total crap, thats what ive told my MP and WPP.

A little more concentration on immigration and getting real paying jobs into this country might help before its to late. I know their seriously brain washing people with the tax credit top-ups etc, but isnt the idea that having a job should be just that, you pay the tax not the tax payer subsidizing all the time and oh yeah, be able to afford to buy some clothes and have a holiday once a year,if not then we should all get in our boxes now and close the lid.
