You could find voluntary work yourself >> http://www.do-it.org.uk/

Well, here we go again folks.
I was supposed to have been called at 8am this morning for a phone interview, it's now approx. 10am and not a peep. I've to go to the chemist to pick a prescription up, he's got 30 mins to call or that's it, he can jog on.
I'm sick of being messed about, if any of us were late for an appointment at the actual WP place, they'd be up in arms.
I wouldn't mind, but my situation hasn't changed from 10 adys ago, so why am I going round in circles? They don't have take the wee-wee don't they?BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

Sometime in the latter part of the year, under the pressure of having to find jobs for the continous supply of unemployed that the DWP will funnel to them, the providers will go cap in hand to the DWP for more money as more unemployed means more salaries for advisors and a stagnant economy will mean fewer opportunities for outcome payments. Therefore, the DWP will have two choices; refuse to pay, so then the DWP will have to deal with the long-term unemployed or, and I suspect more likely, the DWP will cough up making the Work Programme no different to New Deal.
This work programme is nothing but pure !!!!!!!!, advisors can't find any job for you. Furthermore, they call to attend sessions where you need to learn, how to talk in the interview, how to make an impression etc.; as if somebody attending a drama school. People of matured age group have already learned these tips and tricks, it does necessiate to employ some Rocket-Scientist to teach this, it's actually violation of privacy act, data protection etc. and above all, it's too humiliating and insulting; people can prosecute against this kind of practice. BE UP GUYS, TAKING DOLE DOES NOT MEAN I LOST EVERYTHING INCLUSIVE MY PERSONALITY. DRIVE OUT THOSE INCOMPETENT ROCKET-SCIENTISTS FROM THOSE WARM CUBICLES & COMPUTERS - THEY ARE SUBJECTING THE STATE MILLIONS NOT THE HELPLESS DOLE-EATERS OF £72/PER WEEK.0 -
Cut a LONG story short I got a letter today from the DWP telling me the WP had told them I failed to attend an appointment.
I was at the WP this morning for a job search (wow) so asked there and it seems their stupid head office sent me a letter that I never got so thats why I never attended this alleged appt and it's gone to the decission maker to see if my reply will be accpeted.
My bloke at the WP told me to tell the JC that I have attended all other appts and to contact him if they have a problem but my arguement is the WP were quick to tell the JC I didnt attend an appt I knew nothing about but were not quick to actually make sure I got the letter!
What bunch of fools send letter with no other contact when you are not even expecting a letter or appt to attend and when you dont get it you are none the wiser!
I have told my WP adviser I will hold them fully responsible if I get stopped any money at all as I have attend all apppointments that I knew about.
Oh yes and the letter from the JC in Glasgow dated 5th Feb I only got today 2nd class post and they wanted a reply by Wed 13th (2 days time) so after getting back from the WP and having half a cup of tea and a bite of a sandwich (nothing to eat all day) I spend 20 ins on the line to the JC main phone line only to be told they can not ndo anything about it so off I go in the snow again all the way to the JC to get them to make a note on the system I have given them my reply and got a copy also to send them in the post and hope it gets there in time. The bloke at the JC said they have a note I have given the response to them and should be ok
If I get any money stopped I am going to take it futher!

Excess bedroom changes are due in Scotland - it is just council tax that is not changing.0 -

I'm going to see my provider tomorrow, not by appointment, but off my own back because I haven't had any contact from them for nearly two months now. It's bloody ridiculous.0 -
Vincent_Buenisedes wrote: »That is EXACTLY what happened to me last year and I believe the practice has been alluded to in a recent report on the work programme. The primes tend to have departments dedicated to sending FTA's (Failure to attend) to the DWP. As soon as one comes on the system it gets fired off to a decision maker and they don't even have to give a reason. When I appealed my sanctions last year, there was nothing on the DWP's computer systems, absolutely nothing. They arbitrarily applied two sanctions even though both my reasons were working through the system. (It didn't help the fact that one of my responses sat on the outgoing mail desk of some Jobcentre mook for two days before being sent on to the decision maker, therefore missing the ridiculous deadline they had set:mad:)

He showed me on the system where it says the letter was sent from head office but never thought to tell me I had an appt and I have emails that I sent to him on the 14th and 15th asking him to confirm my next appt to which he called me and said it was on the 21st.
Knowing that someone there told the DWP I never attended I am surprised no one said anything when I was there on the 21st for a review.!!!!

IF I get sanctioned in any way shapr or form I am holiding the provider fully responsible. I have never missed an appt and like I say if you have no idea a letter has been sent how was I meant to know I had an appt. I even spoke to my bloke 2 days after this alleged appt and then saw him as I actually had an appt for a review the following Monday.

edit. you can get an appeal form from the jobcentre.0 -

The WP told them I never turned up for a job search I never knew about and I will send them an invoice for any £ the DWP stop me as it's their fault as I have never missed any appt I knew I had. I am furious to say the least.
I am due to sign on this Friday and will ask for an appeal form in advance just to be on the safe side as you can not even get into my jc without an appt or the third degree from security
Edit:
I have just written out a letter that I am going to email over to the WP head office and let them see what reply I get. Just waiting on a name to send it to. Since this has come from someone at their end telling the DWP I never attended they can fix it!We’ve had to remove your signature. I've just found out 1.2 million public sector jobs are to be slashed by 2017-18. So when do we hear 1.2 million jobs are to be created? Because these people gotta do something.... otherwise they've gotta sign on. What's ironic is that people who loses job and sign on are likely to be put on the workfare program to do the same job (possibly) for nothing this time.0
