JCP is clamping down on people who dont attend WP. My provider is being made to send letters to everyone re appointments, so there is a paper trail.0

My daughter attends work program as shes on sickness benifit as she suffers from extream panic attacks,i have to attend with her once a month as she doesnt go out alone let alone use public transport, today the advisore she saw said she should be getting somekind of therapy and to stop taking her meds as shes worried she will be dependent on them,i cant get over this woman saying this shes not a dr or anything and withing 30 mins of getting out of there my daughter had the worst attack ive ever seen her have, what i want to no is how do i go about complaining about this and will anything be done if i do ...thanks0

Rincey, you should definitely complain about this advisor. It is not their job to offer medical advice that could well be dangerous. Sounds wholly irresponsible.
On the first point of contact you generally need to complain to that particular place. Perhaps call and try and arrange an informal chat with the manager and explain the issue. If they take it seriously the adviser should be told in no uncertain terms this is not acceptable, if they don't take it seriously I'd go higher.0 -
The lady who saw her was the manager as her usuall advisor has been moved to another department. We have been to the drs this afternoon who has said she must not come off her medication and to tell them to contact the surgery if they have questions about my daughters health or medication, ive also phoned the job club to get the ladys full name and details on how to complain ,i was told complaints usually go threw the same lady we are complaining about so was given her superiers name to write and complain via him instead, the guy on the phone was realy nice and apologised and said he would let the lady in question no what had happend and about contacting our dr ,he also said she may phone my daughter once she knows whats happend ,personaly i hope she doesnt as im still angry at it all and will be writing to complain and also writing to dwp ,thanks for your advice KevInChester.0

@rincey - if you feel comfortable with it, I suggest contacting http://www.boycottworkfare.org/?page_id=82 with the story. There's a chance it might get some attention if they pick up on it.Wanted a job, now have one. :beer:0

Just thought I would give an update for what happened Friday. I told my adviser that I had a job so she deferred the WP referral for two weeks till the 31st and then told me that I can sign off on that day but still get paid until the Sunday. She was really nice about it and congratulated me on finding a job. Ive not signed anything for the WP so I assume that im not enrolled for it.
Just wanna say thank you to everyone who has given me advice on the WP and the issues around it, lots of posts in this thread has helped and I hope that everyone finds jobs soon0 -

My friend gets his on a print out (i have seen them) and he has to sing BOTH copies so they keep one on file and he takes the other. Then if he fails to turn up they have his signature on the one they kept. this print out also tells him what he has to do by the next time he goes in etc.0 -

donnajunkie wrote: »that sounds like the action plan. mine stopped printing those out ages ago. so they have nothing signed by me to say i know when the next appointment is. also your point only relates to providers. what about when the jobcentre sends a letter with an appointment?
No its the homework and the appointment as it says at the top the next appoint is on such and such at so and so time.
He signs for it TWICE!
well I currently sign at the JC and I get an appointment booked for me EVERY week I go
week one I sign
week two I see the adviser
On week one the signing team re book me on an appointment card face to face with me so no pretending I never got it as was there at the time as I was signing
On week two when I see the adviser I also get an appointment card where I have to sign I have it......
IF they send a letter in the post, who is to say I got it?
No one!0
