that's pathetic that, the JCP don't have a clue... and I've just been told they can 'threaten sanctions' on people who refuse to sign some document or do the WP

anyone confirm this ? because im not in the mood to bail out my brother

    -_-

If you mean the form the WP get you to sign so they can send your CV to companies, well they can't make you sign it as it says that on in and it also says it will NOT change your benefits if you do not

oh one other thing I learnt today while doing this job search thingy. In our area there is a 8 month waiting list for the 4 week work placement. I asked if I could be put on it sooner rather than later as I would really appreciate an up to date reference and was told they don't have enough placements for people who are further down the line in the WP system, and that they would be highly unlikely to find a placement for me this year

This was confirmed by the staff phoning round various places (mainly charity shops) trying to arrange placements and in the hour and a half I was there they didn't manage to arrange a single one.

What 4 week placement is this? I am sure what I read on the news sites and on here is totally differenet to anything I am experiencing. MY WP do not do placements!

it really would seem to depend on who you are with as to what they will do with/for you. At my initial appointment the advisor told me that if they think you would benefit from some work experience they will arrange a placement for you. He didn't dwell on it, but as I said for an hour and a half today I overheard to 3 people on the phones trying to arrange work placements for people.

Oh and the woman who I was sat next to while doing my job search also commented on her time spend on work placement at a BHF shop.

Well I am sure you have seen me say this before but the Ops Director has told me that I will never go on one as they do not do that. Now I don't know if that's just me as I have no idea what anyone else is doing there.

It could be because he feels you have relevant and recent experience and it's only arranged for people the advisor's think that don't?

Well maybe and maybe not. They have to do something to help me though which so far has been nothing. I am waiting for reply from the Govenment Minsters at DWP as to what the WP is meant to be doing for me and if they could explain why the Govenement and DWP allow descrimination against the unemployed.
