He has also sent me an email from home (think he can log in to the work email) but of course I had just turned off the lap top. It was 7.48am! I had got up at 6.30am and not impressed.it's bloody lucky you saw the text before you left. With such short notice you would have expected them to phone you to make sure you got the message not send a text that's easily missed.0 -

Not really as I had only 3.5 hours sleep last night and had already borrowed & topped up the £ for my oyster card so now I owe someone for it.donnajunkie wrote: »i would consider something like that as good news.
It proves how serious they take it.0 -
I have attended 4 appointments at the wp now, and at two of those I was told by the young girl on reception that the person I had the appointment with was away that day - they have my phone number and on neither occasion was I informed  Therefore 2 completely wasted journeys into town, a round trip of approx 2 hours each time
Wonder what they'd say to me if *I* didn't turn up to an appointment without calling *them*?!!0 -
you would still only have had that much sleep if the appointment had went ahead. i sympathise that you are now left owing money. is it necessary to buy oyster cards before the day of travel? Not really as I had only 3.5 hours sleep last night and had already borrowed & topped up the £ for my oyster card so now I owe someone for it.

You top them up and I did so yesterday as I have to walk 15 mins to the sweet shop then to the bus stop as the station does not top up £3 only £5, £10, £15 etc. If I didn't need to top up the card I could just walk to the station to get the bus and get there 10 mins earlier as there is always a lot of traffic and it takes near on an hour.donnajunkie wrote: »you would still only have had that much sleep if the appointment had went ahead. i sympathise that you are now left owing money. is it necessary to buy oyster cards before the day of travel?
No IF they had told me he had a day off when he emailed me last night I wouldh't have needed to get up and if I actually had the sodding appointment I wouldn't be moaning, would I?
Maybe I will text them in July and tell them I having the day off!0 -
Decided to go in today and attend the managers appointment. Her solution to my complaint is I attend Monday, Wednesday and friday from 2-3 for an hours job search ask her to change the time as I get the kids from school at 3 and my partner is heavily pregnant but she didnt give a !!!!!!. Said to her all this cause I wont give you my consent or CV when I am more than capable of looking for work on my own behalf. Told me I should start applying for any job that I am capable of doing now to which I replied not all jobs are financially beneficial in my circumstances and there is certain jobs I wouldnt do. After I finished my conversation with her she asked if I was satisfied with the outcome and I told her no not really. Am in on friday from 2 to 4:30 as am doing the customer portal training, thing is am bursting at the seams with PC qaulifications so there isnt much I dont know or cant do on them so I dont think logging in or navigating their service is going to be a challenge, its a complete waste of time.
Need to take things further so once I hear back from the Regional Director thats what I plan on doing.
How often do people here attend their work programme, bet it aint more than at least once a week?0 -
about once every 6 weeks with a phone call in between. I usually just have to go in for an hour to do jobsearch but next time I've got a one on one with an advisor. I've recently been diagnosed as being diabetic (they know this because I had to miss a job search session as I had just started medication that made it difficult to leave the house until my body got used to it) and they now consider me disabled so want me to see a new advisor. I think they think they can get more money out of me if I agree to being "labled" or at least thats the impression I got.

tell me about it. I am being sent on a literacy and numeracy assessment and then a week long all day course to be taught how to apply for jobs and interviews etc !!!!!!. I have a masters degree and find it insulting and patronizing in the extreme.
I agree, some of the "advisors" are clueless. I kept being asked if I needed any additional computer training, I pointed out as politely as possible that I had been delivering evening classes for years in using computers, word processing, RSA Business Admin (to level 3) and a few other bits. His exact reply was "oh, you don't need any help them"
