it's bloody lucky you saw the text before you left. With such short notice you would have expected them to phone you to make sure you got the message not send a text that's easily missed.
He has also sent me an email from home (think he can log in to the work email) but of course I had just turned off the lap top. It was 7.48am! I had got up at 6.30am and not impressed.

Was just about to leave to go to the WP and I look at my phone to check the time and see I have a text from my provider saying the guy I see is off so they will see me in July! What a joke!
i would consider something like that as good news.

Not really as I had only 3.5 hours sleep last night and had already borrowed & topped up the £ for my oyster card so now I owe someone for it.

It proves how serious they take it.
  • I have attended 4 appointments at the wp now, and at two of those I was told by the young girl on reception that the person I had the appointment with was away that day - they have my phone number and on neither occasion was I informed  Therefore 2 completely wasted journeys into town, a round trip of approx 2 hours each time

Wonder what they'd say to me if *I* didn't turn up to an appointment without calling *them*?!!

you would still only have had that much sleep if the appointment had went ahead. i sympathise that you are now left owing money. is it necessary to buy oyster cards before the day of travel?

You top them up and I did so yesterday as I have to walk 15 mins to the sweet shop then to the bus stop as the station does not top up £3 only £5, £10, £15 etc. If I didn't need to top up the card I could just walk to the station to get the bus and get there 10 mins earlier as there is always a lot of traffic and it takes near on an hour.

No IF they had told me he had a day off when he emailed me last night I wouldh't have needed to get up and if I actually had the sodding appointment I wouldn't be moaning, would I?

Maybe I will text them in July and tell them I having the day off!

Decided to go in today and attend the managers appointment. Her solution to my complaint is I attend Monday, Wednesday and friday from 2-3 for an hours job search ask her to change the time as I get the kids from school at 3 and my partner is heavily pregnant but she didnt give a !!!!!!. Said to her all this cause I wont give you my consent or CV when I am more than capable of looking for work on my own behalf. Told me I should start applying for any job that I am capable of doing now to which I replied not all jobs are financially beneficial in my circumstances and there is certain jobs I wouldnt do. After I finished my conversation with her she asked if I was satisfied with the outcome and I told her no not really. Am in on friday from 2 to 4:30 as am doing the customer portal training, thing is am bursting at the seams with PC qaulifications so there isnt much I dont know or cant do on them so I dont think logging in or navigating their service is going to be a challenge, its a complete waste of time.

Need to take things further so once I hear back from the Regional Director thats what I plan on doing.

How often do people here attend their work programme, bet it aint more than at least once a week?

about once every 6 weeks with a phone call in between. I usually just have to go in for an hour to do jobsearch but next time I've got a one on one with an advisor. I've recently been diagnosed as being diabetic (they know this because I had to miss a job search session as I had just started medication that made it difficult to leave the house until my body got used to it) and they now consider me disabled so want me to see a new advisor. I think they think they can get more money out of me if I agree to being "labled" or at least thats the impression I got.

tell me about it. I am being sent on a literacy and numeracy assessment and then a week long all day course to be taught how to apply for jobs and interviews etc !!!!!!. I have a masters degree and find it insulting and patronizing in the extreme.

I agree, some of the "advisors" are clueless. I kept being asked if I needed any additional computer training, I pointed out as politely as possible that I had been delivering evening classes for years in using computers, word processing, RSA Business Admin (to level 3) and a few other bits. His exact reply was "oh, you don't need any help them"

    grrrrr.......
