Lady at JC today when I was signing asked what I thought of the WP. I said it was a waste of time and I was out the building in 10 mins. She said 'you do job searches there'? to which I replied 'no I do them all at home, what's the point of sitting there doing what I can do at home'?
Her reply to that was 'when were your last interview'? I told her and she said 'that's why you aren't getting interviews' 'What'? I said?
She said the reason why I am not getting interviews is because the WP people are NOT helping me to fill in applications!
I said 'are you joking? You do know there is about 250+ people applying for jobs that I go for and there are near on 3million out of work' Woman - shrugs shoulders!
I was fuming! I am going to email my WP guy and tell him now that he must help me with ALL my applications, even ones where I send my CV.

Well done for telling that stupid deluded dead head at the jc.That mentality dosent surprise me though, as that prat grayling and smith wear the crown for those robotic lines of spin they gave you.
The jc hav said very similar lines to me and i did give them a few choice words as polite as i could,i dont think they even got my sarcasm.

there is really no point in telling the job centre that they are rubbish. the only time its worth telling the jobcentre about anything bad is if you are being treated badly. telling them you arent there much could just result in them having you there all the time. do you really want to spend more time there?0 -

The JC can not make me spend any time anywhere but I have sent my WP bloke this email
'Today at the Job Centre in XXXX when I was signing on the woman told me that the reason I am not getting interviews it purely because you do not help me with my applications, IE: Looking for jobs and filling out the forms and what to write etc.
I did tell her that there are over 300 people applying for each job and that 99% of the time I do not need to fill in an application form but just send a cover letter and CV.
What is your advice because she seems to think this is the reason I am not working? Attached here is my CV and a standard cover letter that I would use on my online applications. This can also be adapted for a supporting statement on the very few application forms I fill in.'
If I am made to spend ANY time there I will make someone sit with me all the time to help me apply for jobs and give me advice on how to fill in an application form and what to put where etc.'
If I am made to stay anywhere and look for jobs I will play dumb (just like her at the JC thinks all us unemployed are) and ask the WP for help in EVERYTHING I do! I will ask them about job adverts saying I do not understand them. I will also ask how to write a cover letter. I will then get someone (if there is a job with an application form) to sit with me and help me fill it in. I will say I do not understand the questions and can't possibly do it on my own.
They will know this is a !!!! take and I do not care! Talk to me like an idiot and I will play the game like one!0 -

They can't suddenly sit up and listen/do something just because we are all telling everyone it's crap! It's not our fault no one thought this through before they brought the WP out and not our fault that near on everyone I have spoken to in real life and on here have been told there is nothing the WP can do for them.
No one can get you an interview and no matter how you dress it up, that's the long and short of it.
I will play the game and do whatever they tell me and then make their life a misery like mine asking them everything to do with job applications.0 -

it's bloody lucky you saw the text before you left. Ain't had any contact from my provider for 3 weeks, they left a message on my phone but having no credit or money to get any so don't know what the message was about. Guess I'll have a letter very soon for an appointment.0

my hubby's provider phoned him at 7.45 am on Friday saying he "must" come in for a meeting............at 4 pm that day
sadly we were off to a wedding 100 miles away and couldn't attend
she was very miffed - especially as " she was going to be out of the office on holiday for the next week!"
we got home to a letter on Saturday evening telling him he must attend his "mandatory meeting at 2.30 on Tuesday 21st June 2012"
so we've written back and asked her if the mandatory meeting is on Tuesday 19th June 2012 OR Thursday 21st June 2012
I wonder if she will be back in time to write him a letter giving him the correct day and time !
Also - can anyone advise - I understood that the WP providers were not allowed to call you before 8 am - or am I mistaken?0
