Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Wet underfoot here this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Walked out of the back door to go to work yesterday and slipped on the path, managed not to fall over but broke heel on my boots, fortunately they are a couple of years old, but don't have any other similiar ones so will be trying to buy some more before xmas or in the break between xmas and new year.
Work yesterday wasn't particularly busy but steady and the enquiries I did have were quite long and complicated - it was the xmas market too and it rained most of the day so wonder what today will bring! Hairdresser came last night, menfolk all now looking very smart and I've been re-blonded. Dinner last night was chicken goujons for the menfolk and I had prawn encroute, jackets potatoes etc. Tonight we're having pork chops, mash, veg and gravy.
Want to get a cleaning cycle done through the DW either tonight or tomorrow and also need to de-scale the kettle and clean the oven, think I may do that overnight tomorrow night. Last whole day at work today until Jan 3 - woo hoo!
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Well, what a productive day I had y/day. DD2 phoned at 10.30 am in quite a state, she just can't seem to get into a routine with DGD2 aged 2yrs 9 mths and DGD3 aged 8 wks and cope with housework etc. I went to help sort some things out for her, did her ironing whilst DW & WM was loaded and set. DD has got into the habit of letting baby sleep on her during the day as she screams when put down. That has to stop so I got the moses basket out and put it in the front bedroom, closed the curtains so it was dark. I placed one of DD's T shirts in the basket followed by baby who could have the scent of Mum, she cried for minutes then slept for 1hr 40mns. First time ever. Meanwhile DD had a bath whilst I made them lunch of cheesy jackets. I put DGD2 down for a nap at 2.30 and wrapped DD's presents and put them under her tree, cleaned the bathroom, emptied DW & swished kitchen floor. Did the veg & pots for their dinner so all she had to do was grill the pork chops.
I wrote out a timetable for her to stick to today, hope it works. When baby woke she had her feed then instead of DD holding her and carrying her around all of the time I put her in the bouncy chair in front of the xmas lights, not a peep from her, again a first.
I left at 5pm leaving a clean and quiet house. Felt like a cross between Mary Poppins and Nanny 911. I was in my element, it's nice to be needed eh?
So today I'll takle the jobs I had planned to do y/day plus sort the freezers out to make room for all the xmas goodies I will bake tomorrow. I made some fudge and caramel chocs last night and hid them from DH.
HESTER, I know Blackbush and used to go to the market there and also motor bike racing. I lived in Wokingham then Crowthorne for 15yrs before moving to S/set. I remember going to Reading when the trams were still runing and it was a small town. My Mum lives in Reading and I can't belive how big it is now when we visit her.
BEEMUZED, JACKIEG, LAMEWOLF, DAZI, LOU, BRAMBLE Hope you all feel beter today.
JULIE, Sorry to hear about the job, hope something else is just around the corner
KITTY, :wave:Welcome to a lovely place here.

JG all that milk can only be doing you good
OH's car broke down last night after he went to view a house in st albans, took 2 1/2 hours for the AA to get there and after changing the battery he still had in the car loose, they discovered it was just the magnet in the key playing up. Problem solved with some black tape but he still didn't get back until almost 11
Work was mad yesterday, so many people are off for xmas and two are skiving (but checking in to the pub and posting pictures on FB during work hours!) and we are already behind on work, the three of us that are in are trying so hard to catch up but it just isn't happeningLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Lou: Just wish I could get inside your head and kiss it better. You are in such a dark place but remember that old saying 'all the darkness in the world can't put out the light of one small candle.' We've all got that little tiny candle burning inside us, Yep, even you. Find it and focus on it sweetie, we are all here for you.
HH: It might be late for you because of your good sleep, but it's early for me because of mine! 7 straight hours woohoo, I'm primed and ready to go. "Vicarage" couldn't believe her eyes when I appeared, she was watching wrestling at the time.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
JG: shouldn't worry about shaving your legs, the midwife can spend the waiting time plaiting the hair.
Well, I'm raring to go this morning. will start with a bit of housework, ie; going through the house like an express train filling multitudinous bin bags with rubbish. Tomorrow is our last bin collection for the foreseeable future.:(
Then I'll shake the cobwebs off the vacuum and give that an airing. WM already on. Rest of the day will be fruit cake and mince pie making. I wish I felt like this every day.
beemuzed: I'm so with you on the form filling, this is the Queen of Procrastinators speaking. The really stupid thing is that once I've started it's often not as bad as I'd thought. Good luck with that.

Ground is wet but the sky is going to be blue I think.Meant to be an amazing 5-6 degrees here today. Will put woofers blankets on the line for a couple of hours to try and get them nearly dry then finish off on the airer.
Ds2 still skulking at his dads, still hasn't deleted the spiteful comments on facebook. Hey ho not got the strength to deal with the stupid arguements atm.
One set of neighbours go away tomorrow for Christmas so I am on key duties for the next 10 days.Um what else...................House is clean after major marathon cleaning up yesterday. So nice quiet day hopefully. Andrew staid last night as his mum went for a long awaited night out . We all sat up till about half one just chatting. He has grown up so much in the few days that his d i ck head of a father has been locked up. His mum looked so happy when I saw her briefly last night, first time she had worn makeup in about 15 years she said. Good on her I say.
Curry tonight to use up the last of sundays roast .
Right off to get a cuppa and some toast with pate if ds3 has left me any, everyone else is still asleep :j:j so will stay quiet and maybe they will sleep all morning ..............ah peace and quiet.
Hope you lovely ladies all have a safe day , hugs for all:)Paul Walker , in my dreams;)0 -
Morning everyone.
Not much OS going onhard having the kids at home
so doing very little cleaning apart from the endless tidy up
Not sure what's for tea, going to cook chicken in Remoska this morning so might use that.
Going to attempt to make porridge for breakfast, wish me luck as it ALWAYS boils over  more cleaning.
Lou glad you are posting, stuff the lack of OS, doesn't bother me. Now don't feel stupid, routine is important. Christmas can be stressful but remember to breathe, focus on something neutral, a picture if you need to. Glad you're nit sticking your head in the sand xxxx
Molly sorry you are struggling too, if you wanna chat we are all here xxx
Moorhen sending lots of positive vibes for your friends little one xxx

Good Morning All
All is well in Chez DG. We had a lovely weekend in London with DS & GF. Friday was just us and DS as GF was at work, then her works do. I took some local butchers sausages for Friday and DS did Sausage & Mash. Saturday (we stay at a Premier In half an hour away as they only have a 1 bed place) we called at Enfield first at Comet and bought them a new vacuum cleaner, then at Argos and got them a replacement Clothes Airer, as their wooden one had broken, and one of those umbrella type things, which are classed as an ironing aid, as when we arrived on Friday DS's shirts were on every door knob, and door drying. While he only irons one shirt at once, he can put them on hangers and hang them on this to dry. GF was having her hair trimmed when we arrived, DS was delighted with their unexpected gifts, when the GF got back, and saw the vacuum cleaner, she almost cried, their faces were a delight, she was so grateful, and I got a very big hug. Her work commitments and travelling means she is out of the flat for at least 13 hours a day, and while DS cooks, he is not the best cleaner in the world , I suggested we give them a hand as both us and her parents were coming over Sunday for a meal, so I started tackling the kitchen (she had done a tidy-up/clean-up while DS was on his works do on Thursday) but the kitchen & bathroom are DS's domain, and he had Friday off, explaining I was not criticising them, but as I had always worked FT, knew how hard it was to fit everything in. So all washing up done, dried and put away, sink had a serious attack with bleach and scourer, and the worktops wiped down. We then walked into their local shopping cente for DS to pick a Duck up for the Sunday.:eek:
We had brought some steak for us 3 on Saturtday (GF is veggie) and we had a meal, again cooked by DS aided by DH, and he also washed up again afterwards, before we went to the Nutcracker Ballet. It was gorgeous, we had never seen a Ballet before, but we really did enjoy it.
Sunday we had our early Xmas meal with DS, GF & her parents, which was very pleasant, and there was no atmosphere, we get on very well. Sunday morning initially their boiler would not light, so no hot water and no heating (only form of heat), DS had to help GF wash her long hair in the sink with water boiled in the kettle, she got a bit stressed and was fastened in their bedroom when we got there, the boiler had decided to work by then. She came out a short time later and apologised for not being ready (as if we cared), but then she was OK again. She so wanted it to be perfect.
Arrived home just after lunch yesterday, raided the freezer for a meal last night, and got some stewing steak I had cooked in the SC out for today, with some veg. Put a load of washing on last night, so will hang that out later, as it promises to be not too bad today. Off to town, to take somethings I ordered in the Debenhams sale back, and to pop in the market for some wool, to make DS & GF a knee blanket to match their lounge.
Lou I simultaneously want to ((hug)) and shake you, and just wish there was someone who can give you that ((hug)) and tell you not to panic. Christmas will happen regardless, and as long as Santa comes for Ethan, the rest is totally irrelevant.
Jackie-G, Beth, Molly, LW and anyone else who are in need of a ((hug)), hi-5, postive vibes, spoons
Prayers for the Friends baby Moorhen

Morning all,
Bright and beautiful here, and promises to be quite mild :T, I have more towels on the line, and dd's bedding next, also need to wash the dogs bed today.
Got most of the oven done yesterday, it was horrid, but I run out of cleaner, so will get more today and finish off, I must say it looks so much better :T, should really do it more often
Meant to say as well, I did not get a Cath Kidson mug, dd asked me to wait till after xmas and to see what santa brings.
Dinner today will be toad out of the hole with veggies, OH and I have the solicitor today to sign our wills, thats another good job out of the way.
I am going to clean the fridge and freezer out today, ready for the big shop tomorrow.
General clean through, and dd is cleaning out a few kitchen cupboards for me each day, I feel I can cope with anything as long as my kitchen is clean
Lou, I think there is an expectation for everything to be perfect at Christmas time, and we are all supposed to be like the perfect families we see on the TV, in reality most of us are not like that, and we rush around like headless chickens trying to make it so, as long as my family are fed warm and happy that is enough for me, your little lad will love Xmas as long as you are there with him, so make it a good one for him, and who cares if its not perfect xx
Molly, hope you are ok you have been quiet recently xx
Sending hugs to the little baby moorhen xx
OK better get on, have good days all xx0 -
