Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 20th Dec This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

morning all

havent really been posting although i have been reading. i have kind of been burying my head in the sand. it seems as if i have gone completely backwards again. i have been drinking over the past week and not eating. self harming has been pretty high up on thel ist too. food is way down the bottom again. sleep just hasnt been happening

i'm not sure why i am doing it again. christmas is really stressful and i spend a lot of time thinking about my family, both living and dead. but i'm not really sure it is to do with that. all i do know is that i have been struggling with my thoughts (mainly suicidal ones). i havent wanted to post that because of everyone else is going through difficult times with caring for sick relatives or hving them pass away. it hasnt been the right thing to say (well thats what i think anyway). would have probably seemed insensitive of me.

i dont really know what to do with myself. i have been up for a few hours already. i am trying to make a timetable of things to help ease the anxiety about christmas but just feel so pathetic. in theroy if i know what is happening when then i should feel better but instead i am feeling completely stupid.

sorry for the long post (and esp at this time of the morning). i guess i am thinking i need to take my head out of the sand and you guys are always supportive. sorry there isnt any os in that :o

will be pottering about today. still not caught up with washing. my bedroom is a floordrobe and needs sorting out. foodwise... erm... hubby will decide that.

have a good day all

Good Morning to Lou, esmf73 and all to follow.
((HUGS)) Lou, wish I had words of wisdom to help. Glad you can see us as a supportive bunch - that's positive at least. Probably the stressful nature of the season is contributing to how you feel. Anyway, hope today isn't too bad for you.
Felt very unwell last evening but it seems to be passing off this morning. I think it's probably stress related too - I just seem to have too much to tackle right now - including a particular job that's been hanging over my head for literally months. Involves downloading and filling in a fairly complicated form and the very thought of it seems to be freezing me into inaction! Totally daft isn't it?
Have two lots of carol singing for charity to do today, an hour over lunchtime and two hours this evening - all outside our local Mr T's. Also a further hour rattling a rotary collection box outside Waitr@se during the afternoon. Food today? absolutely no idea at the moment!
The WM is on, plus the DW but I can't see me getting through a whole lot else really.
Oh well, take care everyone...that sick feeling seems to be returning - No! no time for that!
Resolution:
Think twice before spending anything!
• Morning All,

Lou - I'm new so don't really know your problems fully but a few friends in the real world have suffered with anxiety and self harming and they always seem to get better when they reach out to someone. Is there someone there who can give you a real hug and a chat?

BF's still in UK so I'm having bolognaise out of the freezer for dinner. Anyway must go got to leave for work in 35 mins and just up. Not feeling very awake at the moment!

Morning Lou, Beemuzed and Esmf and all who follow.

Welcome Kitty.

Beth, thinking of you.

Lou, we are here to listen to you and support you. I am glad that you felt able to share your thoughts with us and I hope that all our virtual hugs are helping just a little bit. Thinking of you.

Beemuzed, hope that you feel better soon.

Hugs to Dazi, JackieG, Lamewolf and anyone else who I have missed.

Last day at work today, not quite sure how I am going to get through it as I have a really bad cold and my sinuses are all blocked up. Teenagers survived a day at home yesterday without fighting too much so lets hope that they can cope with today.

My friends baby (aged 2 months) was taken into hospital with bronchitis yesterday, we are all really worried, could I ask for some healing vibes for her please.

Tea tonight is more left over curry.

Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Well what sort of time is this for me to be posting, lol. It's the first time I've slept til the alarm went off for a long time.
Hubby's been dropped at the station, fish fed, packups made & breakfast eaten.
I'm off out tonight, the do doesn't finish til 1:30, but I've arranged for DD to collect me at 10 as I still have to get up for hubby at 5 tomorrow, so I shall eat & bu&&er off home.
Tea tonight is burger & chips for hubby & I'll eat out.
BB, I have pm'd you my phone number, let me know which one you like best & I'll post it to you.
Hugs to Lou, remember this too will pass, Beth, Molly, Beemuzzed & anyone else in need.
Have a good day everybody.
Hugs Hester

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
• Big ((Hugs)) to you Lou. Keep on blogging and talking and things will ease up again. Try and remember that Christmas is about love, friendship and family. There is nothing that NEEDS doing before Christmas. You just have be there on Christmas day to enjoy your son x

Well as you can all see I'm still here! Yesterday was a nice relaxing day (I played scrabble twice and won!)...! I had loads of contractions yesterday after 3.30pm and these were actually a little painful... but they did go away by 7pm! My tummy has dropped a few more inches this morning (I look smaller then I did at 5/6 months pregnant because it's so low!!!)

I don't seem to mind that Roo isn't going to arrive for a while... just knowing that Roo is getting ready makes me happy :)

Its that knowing that something is happening!

Also Roo dropping down means I can eat food with some flavour and not get heartburn (much)... So I just had Caramalised Onion Hummus on Toast for Breakfast! So Yummy!!!!

I haven't had any really weird cravings though...! Cravings... yes, Weird... no! At the moment we are going through 4 pints of milk a day... I just can't get enough of it... yet I HATE milk!

So today... I am taking the boys to the Barbors... DS looks like a Hippy, and DH with his soft wavey hair looks like a member of wham (I never knew his hair went wavey!) Maybe I waited too long... but DS insisted the start of Dec was too early for haircuts, he wanted it closer to Christmas so he would look smart during 'duties' at Chruch of Christmas day! I think he's just too sweet :)

That's all I have planned... that and a long bath (I need to shave my legs... in case I go into labour! I'm just not sure I can reach them!!!!)

I hope everyone has a good day x

Moorhen I will prey for your friends baby, I hope she makes a speedy recovery x

O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee to-night

Miss tru has a day off today so we're going into town. She's been working long shifts lately (12-14 hours) and has had a couple of 56 hour weeks so will probably lie in, we might get to town by 2pm if we're lucky :D We'll be watching a Christmas film when we get back, I'll supply the cheese and ham toasties, she's already bought the chocolate :D

I'll just be doing a quick tidy up this morning, and throwing some washing in the machine.
