Asda Van hit my car!

But what if this wasn't possible? Or you needed multiple vehicles to assist? Some deadend roads can be very long so if the hose or the situation doesn't support this option, are you telling me they wouldn't drive down knowing a car or two would be damaged in order to get to the job and save lives?
sorry- yes I am telling you that - in this litigious age, they simply are not allowed to drive roughshod along roads damaging vehicles
they would simply get more appliances and more hose and run it the length of the road - the firefighters would attend on foot to rescue any persons reported as being in the building - and they would only enter a burning building once a risk assessment had been carried out by the Watch commander.
Have you not heard of the Firefighters who are being prosecuted for Manslaughter after sending colleagues into a burning warehouse where they were killed ?
the watch commander and managers are being prosecuted for not carrying out adequate health and safety asessments and as such failing the health and safety laws.
The Fireservice, Police and Ambulance service must abide by the laws of the land the same as everyother road user and that includes driving with due care and attention - which means not knowingly damaging other vehicles - even in persuit of criminals or to put out fires.
My husband was removed from driving duties for 6 weeks after an incident with a driver who pulled out in front of him at a road junction despite the fact the sirens and blue lights were in operation
he managed to avoid hittinger her side on, but clipped the back end of her car - the appliance had to stop - another was dispatched to the fire, the police arrived and the woman admitted pulling out in front of him ( he had 4 other firefighters as witnesses) she admitted she hadn't seen or heard him - the police prosecuted her for driving without due care and attention - my husband was completely exonerated by the police and other witnesses - but the amount of paperwork and interviews he went through was unbelievable
and that was through not fault of his own .
There is no way any firefighter would take the risk these days0 -
UPDATE!!
Or rather- no update. Despite the damning evidence against Asda they are currently refusing to cough up.
My insurance company are about to send it over to their litigation specialists once they have had a quote from their repair specialists.

I know but what can I do from my end?
Had the phone call about the repair estimate- they're coming out Monday between 10am and 11am.
This weekend I am going to attempt to contact Watchdog, Asda's HQ and potentially instruct my own solicitors to contact the 3rd party concerned.I am a Mortgage Adviser

If I were you I would be phoning the IC at least twice a day asking for an update, it may push them to act the same way and try more often to sort it. They should be trying at least once a day if not more.0

OP . I think you are being fobbed off by your insurance company TBH.
I had a shunt last August, someone drove into me at a junction, he was looking the wrong way.
I reported it to my insurance co whilst in the car. It was driveable, so I was told to drive home and wait for a call. I arrived home, to be met by Enterprise car hire with a hire car for me and a recovery vehicle to take mine away. Was shocked at how fast everything happened.
Even if Asda insurance is playing about, you should have had your car booked in and repaired by now. It is for them to sort out the litigation, thats why you pay insurance for ( as well as legal requirement )
Give your co a kick up the butt, tell them, they can fight it out between themselves, just get my car fixed ! Any excess charges you may have to pay, if you dont win your claim, can be sorted out later.0 -

Virgin has (or did) an 09* number to report faults. :mad:0 -
An Asda van was tailgating me for about 5 miles last week and it's headlights were incorrectly positioned meaning it was constantly dazzling me. I adjusted my mirror but I could see the shadow of my head against the ceiling of my car.0
