Practically, make sure all your doors and windows are locked, make sure car keys are not left in the cars and even consider setting up CCTV footage if you are worried about criminal damage to your property which seems to me to be the most likely way they would strike. Be wary of unusual people or cars in your street, and if you feel you are being watched simply go back into your home and phone the police!

That's a bit over the top. Don't blow it out of proportion .'setting up CCTV footage'. It's a hot air ebay seller. In all likelihood nothing will. Happen. Inform the police and ebay then carry on with your life and in all likelihood nothing will happen

I agree. It's highly likely that this will be the end of it, but nobody should be able to make you feel like this and get away with it. Defo contact police.
    :DPlease, pretty please!:D
  • Another threat (after I told them that I would pass on written threats to the relevant authorities)

I told you I I tell once again you will have DELIVERY and I dont care about your police solicitors and other things ,IF you dont want item you got 2 days cancel it

He is Polish/Eastern European - and without sounding 'un-PC', I dont think he gives 2 hoots about how things are done here.
  • Can someone just tell me step by step what to do and give me links in ebays case. Its too complicated for a casual user like me. Thinking of moving my family out of the house for a couple of days
  • Just reading the wording of the two messages the seller has sent you, are you sure he doesn't mean that he's going to deliver the actual item you purchased? That's how it sounds to me.
  • Just been reading about that poor woman that buried alive by her Polish husband in Yorkshire. Dont want to become the victim of another crazed Pole

I think that is a terrible thing to say, albeit he should not have threatened you and that is wrong, it should be reported and dealt with accordingly by the police and ebay but to say that I think shows a bit of a nasty/racist side to yourself, i'm positive not all polish would do this to someone.

He hsays he doesnt give a toss about me involving the police or solicitors & that I will get an EXTRA delivery!

    Thats a threat (for me)

Maybe I'm not thinking sanely at the moment because of this. But I did say that 'He is Polish/Eastern European - and without sounding 'un-PC', I dont think he gives 2 hoots about how things are done here'

Blatant disregard for the law here.

If someone told me that I could be in trouble with the law, Id run a mile.

Im not racist & Im not nasty.

    get onto the police asap
  • Definitely inform the police and eBay. It's extremely unlikely he'll do anything to you, but he should certainly lose his eBay account and if the police pay him a visit and have a word, even better.

This kind of behaviour certainly isn't restricted to Poles, the vast majority of whom are decent, honourable people. That said, I'm sure the OP is just worried, and we don't always think and say the right thing in this kind of situation.
