If the address is not listed on the item page - Ebay won't give you the sellers address - the police have to request that.

I've had threats in the past - i just ignore them now. I used to wind them up further and tell them to bring it on etc, but i'm older now and can't be bothered. Ignoring them winds them up just as much.

odd, try phoning eBay on 0800 358 6551
  • How do I contact ebay with a general enquiry as to this threat, and what they can do for me, without neccessarily removing his account

Just want to be aware of what processes to follow if my windows are put through or someone attacks my family members etc

    I am terrified.

Just been reading about that poor woman that buried alive by her Polish husband in Yorkshire. Dont want to become the victim of another crazed Pole

You may have to try it a couple of times as it doesn't all work. Email arrives in minutes but it only contains basic information. The other person also gets an email informing them that the request has been made.

Again try phoning them on the above number (0800 358 6551)
  • OMG this is so scary! How do people think they can mess you about and not expect bad feedback? I've had people get nasty before about bad feedback but not to this extent. It defeats the object of having a rating system when you are scared to be honest. People are alot braver when they are threatening you from behind their computer. I doubt they would actually do anything especially as they were too lazy to pop round with your purchase! I hope you have reported them these kind of people are ruining ebay

    Hope you get it sorted

  • Contact ebay through whatever means during office hours and you should get through. Inform them calmly that you have received a physical threat and you would like the seller's details to pass on to the police. You should then go directly, or telephone your local police station. Take a printed copy of all correspondence between you and the seller.

Remember that it is illegal to send threatening messages, "offence of sending letters etc with intent to cause distress or anxiety" is the phrase you need to quote.

Practically, make sure all your doors and windows are locked, make sure car keys are not left in the cars and even consider setting up CCTV footage if you are worried about criminal damage to your property which seems to me to be the most likely way they would strike. Be wary of unusual people or cars in your street, and if you feel you are being watched simply go back into your home and phone the police.

    Hope you are ok!
