When i went into labour on a sunday with ds my inlaws were away on camping holiday so no-one could get hold of them immediately, no signal, but that night my FIL had a dream that his dad came to him and said " congratulations on your new grandson" and the next morning on monday at 7.30am his grandson was born. They didn't know by telephone until later that morning.

I'm a believer and also believe that lots of coincidences aren't coincidences and are meant to happen, as too many happen to me.

My mum has had several psychic experiences that are unexplainable by logic, she couldn't possibly have known the information she received.

When i saw ghosts the shrink told me it was stress induced psychosis. It can also be caused by sleep paralysis. He actually found it funny and said if they was real everybody would see them. so how come mediums and such like haven't been diagnosed with mental illness.

I'm not saying that to ridicule anyone or belittle anyones experiences. Just that the more rational explanation is that the brain has made something up, rather than the spirit of a dead person is in the room with you. Hope no-one thinks this is rude.

The thing that concerns me about this argument though is, if the brain is that prone to 'misfiring' and making folks see things that aren't there why doesn't it happen more often?

Why don't folks at work in business meetings suddenly see a monkey scampering around the meeting room when there is a stately home where folks have seen a monkey in a stairwell that was said to have got trapped there and died.

Do folks see the monkey because their subconcious expects to see a monkey in that setting?

I've read extensively on this subject for a long time and there are very few incidents of people seeing the 'ghosts' of elephants, monkeys etc. in zoos for instance where you would expect those animals to haunt.

It's certainly an interesting subject and one that has had scientists intrigued for decades since they realised there were just too many stories across too many cultures for all those folks to have been either liars or delusional.

My oh doesnt like to believe although he has seen two ghosts, one who used to visit him when he was younger and the other was quite tragic. ...working in israel for 12 years, one night his friend appeared in his room and asked him to tell his parents that he was ok..totally shook up he phoned his mom (not friends mom) and asked them if they had heard from his friend, they told him that he had died but no one had wanted to tell oh in case he came home and lost his job etc
oh still hasnt spoke to the lads parents as unsure what the reaction would be but it is something that obvoiusly upsets him still as on his consience:(

Oh wont even watch a programme now with ghosts etc as it terrifys him!

I have never seen a ghost but I do have Prophetic dreams;

My sister & bil their son & dil and child were out visiting somewhere,they wanted to show off their new clothes. Bil had an accident and crushed his limb......2 days later phone call from my sister , her son had an accident at work and crushed his leg.

A social worker I know called round and told me that Miss Robinson had died this was Mar 9th 2006...Mar 12th another SW jane smith(not her real name) died unexpectedly that day.

police woman died she was buried in her uniform Apl 6th 2006 ...Apl12th A police woman was killed..buried in her uniform)??

Dreamed I bumped into a clone of myself in M&S Jan 2007 Jan 10th ..shopping in M&S looked in a mirror and saw this woman behind me in a queue, did a 'double take' she was the spit and image of me,wanted to go to talk to her but felt so silly but I couldn't take my eyes off her.

At a quayside, large liner in the dock loads of people on board all waving,my sister & bil were with me, they were crying and waving....
2 months later she told me her son and family were going to emigrate to Australia (flying) in 3 months time.

I can understand why some people don't believe and that was my OH until he'd moved in with me and we'd gone through a rough patch with his daughter. Rewind back 11 years from now and I'd just bought my house. Moved in and was spending my first night there. I had lived alone for many years so it was nothing new to me. I'd locked up, turned out the lights downstairs and left the toilet light on on the landing and gone up to my bedroom. Realising I needed something from a box in the other room I came out of my room and was about to cross the hall to the other room. There was a lady standing there, quite young, dark hair, nicely dressed (50's style) and she smiled at me. I smiled and snapped on my main hall light. Now the hall wasn't in darkness before just not bright light if that makes sense. I didn't feel scared, just happy.

Over the next couple of years I put it out of my mind until a neighbour had a child. She would take the baby out past my house in her pram when she walked the dog. Once the baby was 4, I'd bumped into them as I was walking home from the shops. The little girl kept pointing at my house and saying "Lady, Lady". My neighbour said "the lady is here". The little girl was insisting there was always a lady at my window waving at her each time they passed. I asked her to describe the lady to me. She described the same lady I saw on the stairs years before. Fast forward back to when my OH had moved in and we'd just been through an awful time with his daughter. I'd gone up to bed early as I was really unwell and he was downstairs. I'd left the bedroom door open and usual practise the toilet light was on. I heard him lock up and start to come up the stairs when I heard him say "What are you doing out of bed"? I shouted to him I was still in bed and heard him belt up the stairs and he slammed the bedroom door behind him. He'd seen a woman on the stairs and just assumed it was me, when I'd replied the 'woman' had gone past him and down the stairs. I asked him if he could tell me what she looked like. He described the same woman as I and the little girl had seen.

That was 3 years ago, at Christmas I was shown photographs by my Great Uncle that he'd found in the loft (the house had belonged to the previous generation of his wife's family) and he said he'd never seen them before. Right at the bottom was a picture of my Gran (on my Dad's side, who passed away when I was 15) when she was in her teens and had not long got engaged to my Grandpa. I'd never seen a picture of her when she was really young. The only photos we have of my Gran or that my Grandpa has shown us is of my Gran from when I was a baby never any before that. The lady in the photo was the lady on my stairs. I like to think she pops in from time to time to see how I am.

Yes, I saw this on TV. It would seem that cells each have their own 'memory' and they think this could be why this happens.

I don't know if I believe in ghosts or not, I'd quite like to in a way I think. I am scientific and logical in general but I find it so hard to understand not only what happens to your spirit when you die, but also how a spirit can sort of evolve when you're created.
