I'm half and half, not sure I believe in ghosts/spirits, but find the stories so interesting and have loved reading the ones that have been shared on this thread. I don't have any specific stories to relate about it but my Mum has always said my beloved Poppa (Grandpa) who died when I was 5, and who I was very close to, is our guardian angel. I think she has some about herself, and I would love to think it was true and he was watching over us, and this is the main reason why although I am not religious I would love to think there is a Heaven or somewhere we go afterwards so I can see him again :)

Anyway, I know stories that have been passed on can be changed or mistold but my mum told me about someone she and my Nan knew a fare few years ago. Short version: Mum, Dad and 2 kids, they often took Grandma with them in the car. Grandma passes away and when the inheritence money comes through they decide to buy a new car. They took a photo of the old car for the memories and when it got delevoped in the place where Grandma used to sit they could clearly see her face. My mum told me this about 15 years ago when we were doing the whole ghost story thing and I can't remember if she said she'd seen the photo or not. Would be interesting to see if they still have the photo and can prove it was taken after she had died.

Mum also has stories of things she's experienced at work, at home (relating to a jade ornament??) and she even had 2 premonitions regarding my Grandpa's death. I think I might have to talk to her about her stories next time I visit :)

I think it must be a different one, I've never seen the photo before (or the one in your link), it was my mum or my nan who saw it I think. It must be about 15 years ago that she told me and I think it might have happened in the 70s. I was born in 1980 so although it's something I'd love to watch now, there would have been no way my mum would have let me watch a paranormal programme then lol

    Off to Google ghost photos!

    Off to Google ghost photos!

It was aired in1985. I was only 12 when I atched it so perhaps 5 is a little young! I am more suprised that I remembered the programme!

You can watch it on YouTube!
  • When I was 17 OH and I were fast asleep one night when he sat bolt upright in bed and grabbed my arm. I woke and asked if he was OK and he didn't seem to realise he'd done it. I said "go back to sleep its 4.05 am". Early the next morning we were woken by a phone call from his Mum saying his grandad had been taken into hospital the night before, that she had sat with him all night but he had died just after 4am.

A couple of years before that I was walking to a friends house with the friend, when she waved at the old lady across the road who was stood at her garden gate. My friend said "that's strange, Mrs X has been really ill for months so I,ve not seen her out in ages". We walked through her front door and as we entered her mum told my friend she had some bad news, Mrs X over the road had died last night.

I'm not sure I completely believe in ghosts but I could be persuaded that something strange happens just as, and after, someone dies. At a friend's hen night a psychic was "getting messages from above" and in was so vague and general I didn't even listen. Then she said that she had a message from a very short man who always wore a suit. The friend I was with had been a friend since we were 3 and I clearly remember her granddad who was about 5.1ft and always wore a suit. It was very strange, so then I started listening. The last she she said was "an elderly gentleman wants to telling someone about the baby. He knows and you don't, but he wants you to know everything will be Ok even if it is a big surprise". Back to the general stuff ... only the week after I found out I was pregnant. It makes me feel nice to think that my Granddad may have been trying to tell me.
I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be
  • I personally have never experienced anything Paranormal but my Mum has. When I was a little girl we had a dog named Lasey. She always wore a metal chain around her neck and when she shook her head it would obviously rattle. Anyway one day she was very ill so my Grandad and Dad took her to the Vets. My Mum was having a cigarette in the kitchen. Now her Dad did not approve of her smoking. She was standing by the window when she heard as loud as day Lasey's chain rattle. It was so loud my Mum put out her cigarette because she thought they had returned with Lasey. She went into the living room to find nobody there. My Grandad and Dad came back a couple of minutes later and told her Lasey had been put to sleep. Another two incidents occured when me, Mum and Dad went to the Edinburgh Vaults. We were standing in a group of people when my Mum smelt the strongest smell of BO. Now she didn't want to say anything for obvious reasons. Then as quickly as it came it disappeared. Now the second incident my Mum experienced was the creepiest. It was our last night in Edinburgh and the last tour in the Edinburgh Vaults. It was nearing the end of the tour and we were standing in a room. There was a gentleman who was very nervous and kept looking out the doorway. Anyway we start to leave and as we start to leave my Mum looks down the corridor and sees a shadow of a dog running about. At first she thinks Oh there's a dog. Then she says to my Dad I've just seen a dog let's get out of here lol.
  • my brother saw my nana when he was little, mom had taken him to put flowers on the grave and mom saw him talking so asked who he was talking to, he said it was nana and even described what she was wearing etc...he denys it happened now:(

I however have had more than my fair share of weird happenings so do believe in them. i did actually join a paranormal group in the end as it turned out the row of houses where i lived were all having weird stuff happening. i saw a little girl at the bottom of my stairs, i thought it was my daughter at first:eek:
I went on many investigations and tbh a lot of the time you disproved more than you proved....
I did however see some intersting orbs on video camera in a place we went regulary...what they were i will never know, all i can discribe is translucent balls that travelled up and down the corridoors going through closed doors, there was a girl in the group who was a teen and they were actually following her and moving around her. my father said they may be microscopic insects that we cant see visably as otherwise i can give another reason as to what they are?

Not me but a girl at the transplant clinic apparently completely changed after getting a new heart. She suddenly started eating food that she hated before, found a passion from swimming when (she says) before she couldn't even doggy paddle. She seems to think her donor is physically trying to keep living through her :s
