George Stanton, Kevin Kearle, Damian Spooner-Cleverly, Ryan Stanton. They change their name often due to website factual complaints about them on forums and consumer sites

    Hi everyone

I can assure you that the MOJ are very aware of the goings on on Lifestyle Claims and are looking in depth with the way they transact business.

When they refund anyone, if they took the money by Credit card according to the MOJ rules they have to return the money this way and NOT by cheque. So if anyone has had a refund by cheque when they paid by credit card please notify the MOJ immediately.

Also, 30 days in returning money is totally unacceptable and again the MOJ should hear about this practice.

On Legal Beagles we do a bulletin to the MOJ every 2-3 months and this periods bulletin we have fully featured Lifestyle Claims.

  • Thank heavens for this forum! Thanks for all the advice...
Just had call from Lifestyle - same old stuff -about making claims for thousands etc etc they didn't get as far as getting my bank or credit card details but I agreed to them emailing me info about their company - I then said I wanted time to think about it and that they could call me back tomorrow. Of course I went straight to MSE and found this thread. Have just emailed them back and said 'not interested'!! Despite asking them now to NOT call me tomorrow, guess I will now get many, many unwanted calls on my mobile...

Over on Legal Beagles we have made a formal complaint to the MOJ on our regular comunications with them to the person just below Kevin Roussell about Life Style claims and indeed many other CMC's advising them of their antics.

I have been monitering them since they first contacted me under the name of Cento Client Review. Fortunately, I was not taken in by their high sales pitch which was all total lies.

For sure anyone that has had money taken from their account without your express permission must contact their bank/credit card provider immediately and report this matter as this is a very serious matter.

Under distance selling once they have taken the money there is a cooling off period of 14 days and the pack has to be returned to Lifestyle claims within this time. Failure to do this will result in them not refunding the money so easily.

The fact that they had given the credit card/bank number does that mean that this person has then agreed to go ahead?

What was the timescale between them taking the payment and the the customer being able to see the terms and conditions before Lifestle actually took the money?

You know they tell you that you have refunds to come PPi and credit card charges? they do not know for sure and that is fact it is pure guess work. I had a caller just the other day who told me that I had a credit card refund due to me and I knew that I did not as I had already claimed it all back myself, so I said who is the refund from? they could not give me an answer and then she said ohhh it must be PPI to which I told her that I dont have PPI. She was stumped as I then asked who where she got my phone number and name from and when she told me from the MOJ and this is a total nonsense and I told her so.

If anyone one wants me to include them pacifically on our next communication with the MOJ I will take this up for them if they cannot get anywhere themselves. So far we have had some great results working directly with the MOJ and have so far had a few CMC's suspended following further enquiries.

I wonder if anybody has actually received a complaint from Lifestyle Claims. To date I have not had one referred to me.

I would have got details of her firm then made a formal complaint AGAINST the MOJ that one of the firms it regulated told you it had obtained you personal data from it so both the MOJ and the ambulance chaser appeared to be in breach of the Data Protection Act.

Of course the MOJ would not have done so but it is likely to take a dim view of a "regulatee" making claims that it has broken the law.

I am one step ahead thanks and have already done a full complaint. The number they called me from turned out to be a company formed last Aug called PPI Redress Ltd. Guess what they are not under this name authorised with the MOJ and whats more have not registered a data controller at this address for that company and also a full complaint has been sent to the ICO as well.

I am waiting on responses from both as they are trading ileagally. 'whocallsme' have 100's of complaints about this firm and they had my ex directory number and full name. My thread over on LB had also many 100's of views and the work that we did in uncovering who they were just from a phone number 01535 358094.

  • Hi

I to have fallen into the trap of lifestylemoney.net. Thank you all for posting your experiences and especially to magpiecottage whose suggested email content I have used to get to the stage of being assured on the telephone that I have cancelled within 14days and so will be receiving the letter to sign to then wait 30days to be refunded. I informed my bank so they too are on the case. I am now going to fight for the refund...problem is I threatened that if I did not have the money refunded in my bank by end of day today (after cancelling with them last Saturday) I would be forced to take further action. That action I am now unsure of and they have not refunded my £359.98.

I called them back today (having missed their call), ultimate response being and I quote, that "it would be quicker for me to continue with my claim than wait for a refund". By this point I had been cut off several times and fobbed off when I did speak to someone who couldn't transfer me to customer services but had to ask them to call me back. The person I quoted above explained he'd been 'put in charge of the office' as all the directors/managers were abroad/in meetings/away so I couldn't talk to anyone else. I did point out that I had been cut off, ignored and been told by a recorded voice that I was 'first in the queue with a 15 second wait' only to be cut off and that their 'press 1 to be called back by a representative' also cut me off to which he replied "we're getting bigger so our phone system is not working properly and is frustrating for you and for us". I had been told previously that that line I was calling was not manned (at 3.45-4pm) as everyone had gone home for the day having been allowed to for meeting bonuses unusually!! I did point out that their office closing hours were 5pm.

Anyway, I have been told to call back again on Monday probably only to be told that the 30day refund policy will be the one I have to follow. I will update next week.

What goes around comes around and let's hope someone plucks up the courage in MOJ or wherever to actually stop them fullstop...

Keep us informed what they say on Monday.

Have you called your credit card provider and reported that they have taken the money from you and you did not want the service and have cancelled?

I would also send them a further email and tell them that your money must be returned to your credit by return (30 days is not acceptable). They took the money quick enough lol.

I suggest you send the e-mail I posted at 8:44 pm on 13 March 2012. Don't forget the three CCs I have recommended.
