Thanks to MagpieCottage for this, try it, it worked for me :)

You mean you received your full refund from them? Did you apply for it immediately, or did you have to wait the 14 days plus 30 days?

I have received the full amount yes. I sent them notification via email that I did not want to use their services after about 1 week. However, I had not signed anything nor verbally told them I wanted to go ahead. They took the money literally minutes after the telephone conversation I had when they very first called me.

After about 3 weeks I got a form to sign so they could process the refund and on this form it said the refund would take 31 days. However after 31 days I had heard nothing. I sent them numerous messages, emails etc all without reply.

I eventually spoke to someone at their office and they told me the refund was going to be processed on the 26th March 2012. Totally unacceptable.

Thats when I sent them that letter and after a couple of days they processed the refund.

The key is to keep badgering them, they want people who are happy to wait and give up. Everyone needs to stand up to them. I feel sorry for those who have been conned who do not have friends, family and access to places like this.

Companies like Lifestyle Claims should be investigated and stopped. Its criminal.

I sent an email to them today - 2 weeks after I sent the paperwork back - empty - along with a letter requesting (politely) a refund of the fee. I had a voicemail message from one of their employees - possibly a supervisor - asking me to call back, but I haven't made the call as I think it will just be another attempt at a 'hard sell' ... which, I understand, is against MoJ regulations too. I've heard nothing so far and don't expect to. So - I'm prepared with the email but don't know if I should send it yet.

I also tried calling the MoJ - 'all our consultants are busy' - and the phone went dead. Are they all busy dealing with complaints about Lifestyle? :D
  • Report the matter here as well as to the MOJ

That just about sums up the effectiveness of this so-called 'regulator'.

One can only dream of the day when a full government enquiry ends up reavealing the true extent of 'licensed' fraud that has taken place right under the MOJ's noses.

After Cartel, you would have thought they might have woken up a bit?

This is a template of a letter that magpiecottage posted here - (I cant give you a link, it wont let me!)

So here it is. I slightly adapted it to add that if the funds are not returned within 7 days the matter will be taken to county court.

This is what I sent to Lifestyle Claims:

  • Was phoned this afternoon by Lifestylemoney, have had the same problem as a number of yourselfs here. After a lengthy phone call I was told I had definitely got a claim, they asked for my bank details, in which I was hesitant to give, but they reassured me it was for a reference, so I went ahead. I was told about a fee that had to pay, but I was told and understood that this would be taken out after the supposedly money had came through. They then informed that I would receive a phone call within an hour from a welsh girl called Danielle to collect my details, this was at 4PM today (7/03/12). Immediately after coming off the phone, I contacted my bank, in which I was to learn that Lifestylemoney had taken two withdrawls of £352, calculation to a total of £704 from my credit card. I did not receive the call at 5 o'clock. Please can someone help?

Lifestyle phoned again -i told them payments for cold calling was illegal and she twice denied this:mad:
None of any of my statements have anything relating to any PPI in place -and yet she told me that Banks have no legal obligation to do this - again i find this highly unlikely to say the least -anyone confirm this?

I suggest the following is sent:

I am pleased that you have agreed to refund the money which you unlawfully took from my account. However, I must inform you that a timescale of 30 days is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

You have taken that money without my consent and deprived me of its use resulting in charges and interest being incurred and/or denying me investment opportunity in order to use my money for your own purposes.

I DEMAND that my money is returned to my account immediately.

I do not consider you to be fit and proper to carry out claims management activities.

Accordingly I am copying this e-mail to your regulator.
