I am not strict 100% of the time, would drive myself insane.

Done it several times before and it never worked for me - long term.

I do have some OFF days (or nights) but stick to my 1200 per day most days..

One day is not reason to send yourself on a guilt trip...

Well hello, I have a rare few minutes to post lol. I've been working very early and finishing late or normal 6pm time. I left the house about 5am the 2 previous days and got back after 8 last night!

At least this is not an office job and it's keeping me fit running after people, getting them things. Hard to do a proper diet on location though, you never know what food you're gonna get. But it's been good so far. I had sausage and mash yesterday and cottage pie day before. So at least I've had some decent meals. Rest of the time it's chocolate/crisps/fruit to snack on or red bull to keep me going lol.

Can I join in too please? :D

Youngest DD and DGS have moved out so after 30 odd years of catering for a family.......now there is just me!

    :o

So I am newly single, newly budgeting and newly dieting all at once - not asking too much of myself, is it??? :rotfl:

Portion control is my MAIN problem, I love food, I am a great cook and I cook and eat too much.

I am 15 stone and 5 ft 8ins - got down to 11 st 7 lbs a few years ago and looked terrible, old, scrawny and thin......which was a big disappointment since it was my "ideal weight" or so I thought

I looked much better at 12 st 7 lb even though it was officially overweight so losing 2 1/2 stone is my aim.

And learning to buy less, cook less and eat less too :T

old habits seem to be dying hard at the moment, but am being persistant.
having to try and not buy/have biscuits in as i will only scoff the lot, same goes for crisps or anything like that (esp as it will call to me if it lurking in the coubard).
im having to try and find healthy lunch snacks for work, plus for breakfast such as readybreak and have a variety their.
trying to gradually build by cookery skills up and cook from scratch. have a couple of vegetarian/vegan cookbooks in, had a nosy in the library/charity shops but am still looking for someting to help.
trouble is im 16 stone, 5ft 1in with polycystic overy syndrome for a few years now and need to do something about it, as it really bothering me. didnt like being 9 stone as i looked too thin/ill, plus look a mess being big and finding it a challange to get clothes to fit and i can afford.

Sharon - take yur food with you so you do nto have to reply on whatever is there ;)

    Fozziebeartoo - welcome ;)

I have discovered Covent Garden Soups......

    Right now munching on :

    http://www.newcoventgardensoup.com/ncgs-product-range/moroccan-tagine-soup

    Absolutely brilliant this one....

Was a bit dissapointed with my first (butternat squash and sweet potatoes) as it was completely pureed and I like my soups with chunky bits inside. Tasted good but the consistency was a no no for me.

Then Leek and potatos - lovely and bits inside.

But today's one is an absolute heaven.......

Asda sells them for £1.50 per tub, 2 servings in a tub.

Tesco at 2.10 each but they have a promotion for £1 on several varieties so... soups it is ;)

Unlucky T - to be honest I can nto be bothered to cook from scratch just for myself so experimenting with ready meals now.

The soups I linked above (Covent Garden brand) are trully great and it would cost e more in ingridients to get few of them cooked from scratch (never mind the grief of having to wash up).

I used to cook everything frm scratch before but honestly can not be bothered to shop, shop, wash, cook, wash up etc any more.

Left home before 7 am yesterday and did not get back till 7pm, then dog walk, cat feed/tray clean etc and.. when do I have the time to cook?

    Nahhhh

Plus it is easier to watch calories when they are written on the packaging ;)

gettingready, I'd love to take food with me, but I'm carrying around with me lots of stuff, so I can't fit it in, or carry it, especially if I have to us public transport. If I get a lift or drive in it's not so bad. And they do have fruit to eat there, so I've got no excuse really, well apart from being busy.

I'm so happy I don't have an early start today and I'm off tomorrow! I have to leave at 12.30 today, so can eat properly lol.

Well, I have changed my workign hours from next week as was getting well &^%&^%$%%^ off with the journey back home taking me 2 hours plus TWICE this week.

    So from next week:

    Mon-Thu 08:00 - 16:30
    Fri 08:30 - 14:30 :D

37.5 hours per week today just split differently....

At work I have one drawer with food - in there: rivita, rice cakes, oat cakes, tea and coffee

Every second day take a cartoon of soup with me (1/2 cartoon per day, covent garden soups)

I am pretty good day time but at night.... jesusssssssssssssssssssssssssss, me bad...

Going on the scale tomorrow, will see.

Stopped going on the scale every single morning as was driving myself insane with that...
