1. Pay off ALL our debt
2. Lose 4 stone in weight to get into the 'healthy' BMI range
If I can achieve these two things, I will be the happiest person I could ever imagine!
I've been in debt for 8 years and overweight for about 7, so I'm really hoping 2012 will be the year to sort out these two huge issues for me!DFBX2013: 021 :j seriousDFW £0 [STRIKE] £3,374[/STRIKE] 100% Paid off
Proud to have dealt with my debts.0 -
I love these threads

I will:
1) Pay off my two credit cards and catalogue (0% BNPL), before starting on my car loan
2) Go on holiday to Majorca in May, having saved spending money and paid for it cash - ie a debt free holiday
3) lose the weight and tone up, which I've been saying for 12 months now... :wall:
4) Do more meal planning and healthy eating
5) Save any spare £1 coins I getTotal 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Good thread! My resolutions for 2012 are to:- keep track of all my expenditure. Have been doing this on and off, and when I do it, I find it cuts my spending effortlessly. Months I don't do it are another matter....- pay off the stupid credit card I got...grrr! Currently over the max spend at £3900. On the positive side, I now know without a doubt that me and credit cards absolutely do not mix, and I should not have one. Another chance to learn the lesson of paying it off... :-(- continue overpaying the mortgage... it feels like trying to empty the sea with a sieve, but just keep telling myself, every little overpayment helps.- stay employed.- use my gym membership at least twice a week for starters.- take lunches to work and get into meal planning consistently.Fingers crossed!0

My aims are similar to others
1) Pay off as much as possible from my credit card
2) Lose weight for sons wedding in July
3) Get fit by actually using the Wi Fit I bought 16months ago
4) Put away £1 a day towards Christmas
5) Meal plan
6) Work out a budget and stick to it ! I also find money easier to handle when I do this
7) Be happier in my work ( I am lucky to have a job !!!)
Good luck all in 2012 and have a happy and prosperous new year

My things will be: 1. Clear credit cards by dec 2012 - am on target to do this.
2. Stop procrastinating. I have so much to do all the time but waste time because its all so overwhelming. So I must plan my time more efficiently (Not sure how - but working on it!)0 -
My resolutions for 2012 are:
- stop smoking (even I usually do just 1-2 cig a day)
- have to put some weight on 9at least half stone)
- play more with my 1y old baby girl and try to spend less time on internet
- try to remind myself to eat even if I'm not hungry
- have sex with my husband more than once a week
- save £10,000 (at least try)
That's all.0 -
1) Start my DMP £7,164.77 to payoff by December 2014 (hopefully sooner).
2) Sell as many off my old clothes/shoes on ebay or to cashforclothes shop near my house - about £5 per big bag of clothes!
3) Remain optimistic about becoming debt free.
4) Remind myself to never get into this mess again & help campaign for Financial Ed in schools - my debt began when I went to University & Natwest gave me a £1500 overdraft on my student account without me requesting it in my 3rd year banking with them. Free money seemed great when I didn't have any!
5) Continue to buy only what I need, not what I want.
I'm only 24, I still have time to fix my mistakes; by the time I'm 30 my credit score should be a lot healthier and attractive than it is now and during my DMP.Support is hope, hope is a brighter future, the future is looking happy.[/FONT]0 -
the best thing to do is make a list..
this weeks is
go to the gym throughout the christmas hols
go on the sun beds ..to stop me having Seasonal Depression
Symptoms
People who suffer from SAD have many of the common signs of depression: Sadness, anxiety, irritability, loss of interest in their usual activities, withdrawal from social activities, and inability to concentrate. They often have symptoms such as extreme fatigue and lack of energy, increased need for sleep, craving for carbohydrates, and increased appetite and weight gain.
Symptoms of winter SAD include:
Fatigue
Increased need for sleep
Decreased levels of energy
Weight gain
Increase in appetite
Difficulty concentrating
Increased desire to be alone
and watch tv
Don't use sun beds!! You might be trading SAD for skin cancer down the line. Get a light box instead - here's a good one:

And a one-off investment in that light box would surely be cheaper than using sunbeds all winter.0
