I really hope the last four or five months have not just been a 'flash in the pan' type thing for me. I really want and need to keep it up.
I think this is a very sensible resolution/goal and well done to you! :j
In 2012 I would like to:
1) Get some savings together.
Since we bought our house we have enough to live off and spend our time doing fairly nice things, however we don't have enough in the emergency fund and that worries me. I'd also like to save up enough on top of this to go to WDW in 2013!
2) Carry on with my new-found MSE ways.
Since finding MSE and particularly the DFW forum (we aren't actually in debt- apart from our mortage which we only got in July this year so I'm not too worried about paying it off yet :rotfl:) I have been what I like to think of as much more money savvy- we have a grocery budget and try to stick to it, don't buy clothes/dvds very often, only go out if we've got a voucher, have tried to buy less expensive but more meaningful presents this christmas etc etc etc and I would like to stick to this in 2012 in order to achieve #1!
Thanks OP for a great thread and good luck everyone on your becoming or staying debt-free missions!:heartsmil Stay-at-home-mummy of two, pinching the pennies but loving it! :heartsmil

My resolutions are:
1 Pay off CC and OD before end 2012
2 Keep going to dentist and have eyes tested
3 Lose some weight by eating better
4 Try some new craft to keep hands busy
5 Organise my time better so I have more free time, I seem to do a lot of nothing!
6 Do something nice for somebody every day
Thats it for now, well if I put anything else down it will overface me and I will fall at the first fence, I may add to it as the year goes on as well.0 -
Thanks for all the posts so far; keep them coming!!
Good luck to each and everyone one of you with your resolutions:T

The changes I want to make in 2012 are
1) Build up some savings
2). Lose weight (5 stones) and excercise
3). Probably my most important change is to be more positive. I am currently suffering with depression so this won't be easy!
4) Make time to do crafts, which I love and will help with number (3)

Hey DorsetGirl, is this how I'm getting so many new recruits?! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Love it! :T
Right, my resolutions in 2012 are to:
1) Be debt free by Xmas 2012!!! This is the most important...
2) Make sure I hit 20 NSD's EVERY month
3) Stop being single...wow, what a drought I've been having... :rotfl:
4) Get down to goal weight (1.5stone) slowly though as I need to change my habits and KEEP them
5) Keep my room tidy so I have room (and no excuse not) to do 6)
6) Do my brilliant Pilates DVD regularly
7) Stop wasting food
8) Use my VSP and SPC money to pay for Xmas 2012New Debt Journey: Pay off £19,622.91 by 30th April 2015 :T
Debt at Highest: £43,073 :eek:0 -
Love this.
My changes are pretty much the same as everyone elses
1. Keep up with my new found mse motivation
2. Get into smaller clothes (am a stone heavier than this time last year)
3. Start doing exercise again - I miss it but can't seem to make the time at the moment
4. Continue SP and VSP so I can pay for Christmas next year
5. Get married! Roll on August.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
My goals are
1) continue to be frugal - after I have bought some trousers, as mine are all faded and yuck
2) Lose weight. It is really starting to ump me off that I can't get this down from 12st. I want to be 10st to start off with, that would at least get me down to a size 14 or so.
3) Exercise. I need to do this as I have arthritis in my spine. So exercise helps keep my core stable, and so it hurts less. Ovbious really....:o
Good luck all

This is a great thread. Mine are very simillar to others but that's good as we can all motivate each other.
1. To continue moneysaving. We are 5 years into our DMP - started off with 146k and are now down to 38k. We have 2 more years and then the nightmare will be over
2. To lose 2 stone. I've just weight myself and am 13stone 5. There I've said it so it's out there now. Am tall though so if I dump 2 stone I will be a size 14 which is fine. Going on holiday in March so need to get stuck in.
3. Look after myself a bit more - I'm a mess at the moment and that's because I've not had the cash to splash on hair or clothes but now that's become an excuse not a reason.
4. Develop my sideline job opportunties.Cogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0 -
1. Clear at least £10,000 off our debts.
2. Stick to our budget every month.
3. Finish my course and get a job as a Health Visitor.
4. Lose a bit of weight, but NOT pay for the privilege.
5. Save a small amount in an emergency fund as all credit cards are now cut up.
6. Have a fab year!Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0
