Shopping was delivered this morning, and only one thing missing - not bad. All put away. Vacuuumed through downstairs. Lunch cooked, eaten and cleared away. Nearly time for work.

    Afternoon all

Had a lovely day in London, all very tired now so just having a cup of soup to revive us.

I may go and do my food shop this evening if I recover enough. First I need to phone the farm and tell them that my meat delivery has not arrived as it was dispatched more than 24 horus ago. EEEEeeeek

  • Bathroom sparkling, upstairs all hoovered, the stairs hoovered, downstairs hoovered. Casserole is on. DD2 has phoned, in tears because she thought she was stranded in Nottingham. The trains are delayed, and she was told to get off her train. She is now back on it & on her way, so hopefully she has calmed down.

DH & I took the dog for a long walk. We needed to talk. It turns out that he is now working over Christmas!:mad: Apparently he put himself on a 'maybe' list, and they have called on him to work :( Why did he not say that when I asked him a straight question 'are you working over Christmas?':mad: He is heading to Cardiff on Christmas Eve, and will be back Tuesday :( It is going to be really weird. I am glad I haven't got all his family coming over now, and that I was able to invite my mum :) He needs to break the news to his mum that he won't be there Christmas afternoon now. I have told him that he had better be off the week after Christmas (as booked) or he can find somewhere else to live!! (only half joking :p)

I am going to eat chocolates now, as we wont be eating until later due to train delays ;)

OK...so today's plan was to visit mum and deliver presents, stay for a couple of hours, go to Tesco, come back, tidy living room and hallway, dust, wipe paintwork and hoover. Then HHI and make mince pies.

Reality was, oversleep, rush around and get ready to go, fall asleep at mum's :o, wake up (after staying ages!), go to Tesco, look at all the miserable faces:

DD: 'Mummy, isn't Christmas supposed to be fun?'
    me: 'Yes, it is'
DD: 'Then why is everyone looking so miserable?'

I had no answer to that! (She's only 7!).

Come back, wedge food into every available space, collapse with a cup of tea.

Planning to make a start on the mince pies later this evening - we're having a takeaway tonight (DH has finished work now - he's all mine for the next two weeks!)

    Restart tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a much more productive day.
    Take care

Hi everyone, i'm after some advice, please....

Kids all have nits, so i've got a nitty gritty comb and i conditioned their hair yesterday and used the comb. I've also done it today...How often should i do this? How many days do i need to do this for? and do i need to wash bedding ect everyday? Many thanks for reading it's the first time they've had them. Any other information is welcomed..:A
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Wednesday - Upstairs or Downstairs if it's a bungalow or a topsy-turvy house!
    Level One
[STRIKE]Declutter floors - either put away or into a box or bin bag so at least it's tidy[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]Hoover/sweep/mop all upstairs[/STRIKE]
    Level Two
    [STRIKE]Clean bath/shower, sink, toilet[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]Strip, wash and remake all beds[/STRIKE]
    Level Three
    [STRIKE]HHI[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]HH me time[/STRIKE]

Went to Mr As with DD for the food shopping. So much for my intention to remain calm it was horrendous.

Got some friends coming round tonight so looking forward to that.

Vanilla - do it about every 3 days for at least a couple of weeks. I never wash the bedding as they only live on the hair - they die quickly when they're detached.

The other thing vanilla is to check everyone's hair as it's so easily passed on. I quite often get them if my kids have them!
