Hi everyone.
Can I join your thread.
Tomorrow is my first day of my new healthy living challenge. I really dont want to pay £'s per week to be told I'm overweight. Previously I have lost 3 stone, but I am older now and I know its harder.
The only really enjoyable exercise I like is walking but would love someone else to walk with.
Big weigh in tomorrow. Hubby had videod me tonight in my underwear. I find this a great incentive.Loved our trip to the West Coast USA. Death Valley is the place to go!0 -
Hi me too. I'm 46 and weight 13 stone 7lbs. I used to be 10 stone and felt fab, now I feel like a bag of crap. I want to lose 2 stone and get my bum off the sofa and into the fresh air.Cogito ergo sum. Google it you lazy sod !!0

Its my first official weigh in tomorrow, I have been doing the old style points ww for the past week so I am really quite giddy, but also scared.
Just a thought for those of you who have trouble doing it on your own, well so do I, but where I live now, the ww woman is a nightmare and I could easily clock her one, so I have no choice, which is why I jumped at the chance to do it with you lot, because I know you will keep me motivated and on track.
My starting weight is 17stone 4lb and I aim to lose at least 80lb and hopefully 30lb or more by June (cos we are off on our jollies). For me its not so much about the weight, but more about the dress size, last time I weighed 11.5 stone I was a size 12, which will do me fine.
A few little tips for anyone with a sweet tooth (like me)
Sugar free jelly (free).... hits the spot, along with some smart price vanilla ice cream (1.5 pts per portion)
Angel delight (2.5 pts for a decent sized portion)
In the sales I bought some of those tubes of buttons, they have 7 x small bags of buttons which are only 2 points each
Maltesers, if I remember correctly work out at approx 1/2 point for 6 maltesers
Curlywurlys are 3pts
Smarties are 3.5 pts
This is the (obviously) important stuff that I remember from last time roundStarting weight 17st 4lb - weight now 15st 2lbs
30lb lost of 30lb by June 2012 :j:j:j (80lb overall goal)0 -
Hi everyone
I, too, would like to join. I am 50, 5' 2" and am at a new peak of 12st 5lb. At this moment I would love to get to 10st.
At the moment I haven't decided how I am going to do this. I have been to WW stacks of time throughout my life but never actually got to goal. I joined SW last year but only lasted a couple of weeks as the leader didn't inspire me so now I don't know whether to try counting calories or dusting off my old WW or SW books and trying doing it myself. At the moment I don't feel I want to return to a class. I suppose what I am seeking is to find a way of eating for life.
I currently don't do any exercise as I've soon got bored of any that I've started.
I am hoping I will be inspired by everyone on this thread.0 -

Happy New Year everyone.
Weighed in this morning at 10st 3lb:eek:. Heaviest ever. I blame it on my age -I seem to put on an extra stone every decade!!!
Did well last night and stuck to my plan of 1 drink 1 glass of water and had lowest fat starter and peice of salmon for main and no dessert Wow!!!!! Felt great today even though it was 4am when we finally got to bed.
Had my 1 peice of shortbread today as a treat, but slipped up by finishing last bottle of cider  but at least no more temptation. Still got 3 mince pies left though
Will start back at Gym on Wed as not open till then and will sort meal plan out tomorrow so can do food shop Tuesday -healthy of course.
Am aiming to do WW but just can't afford to go. Have done it before and it worked well but I'm older now and know its harder.
I've decided to treat myself every month that I lose 5lb so this month its a new haircut with a half price voucher (:money:) so that should give me a boost - I think treats are important - it doesnt matter what it is.
Anyway think positive girls and lets make it fun

Hi Guys & Happy New Year!
As I'm new to the forum and have to start somewhere, what better place than the NY weight loss thread!
Will confirm tomorrow, but currently in the 17st region but hoping to get down to 14st and possibly a bit more. I'm probably going to adopt the old favourite calorie counting method (but keep things like bread intake low) and see how it goes!
Good luck all!Starting Weight (19/02/12): 17st, 1lb. Target Weight: 14st

I need to lose 28lb by August but I hope to do it sooner.
To everyone that is feeling down about their goal, I lost 4st and hit my goal in 10months in 2009 (put adobe back on oops) and my Mam has just reached her goal losing 6st. If we can do it, anyone can! :T
I didn't get on with SW so I'm going to do old points WW with my book and calculator from 2003 (it really is on its last legs) wish I hadn't sold my kitchen scales when new points came in, I don't seem to get on with it.
We've also just obtained a xtrainer so I'll be going on that. Did 2x15 mins today.0
