Im so mad with myself - decided to start painting the ceiling, did half of it (who artexes (sp) a cupboard ceiling????) went to step off the toilet (ok, i know now!!!) and it shattered - def no way of repairing it so will have to buy a new one tomorrow.
Apart from that, todays list is all done and dusted - wont be finishing the ceiling now tho, maybe tomorrow - not using the toilet to stand on again tho.

  • Do any of you manage to achieve all this and work full-time, and run 2 teenagers to all their evening activities?!

PLEASE let me know how you fit it all in if you do.

Feeling a bit of a failure compared to alot of you guys.

I work fulltime, but admittedly don't have kids which probably makes things a bit easier. The first week it took me hours to do some of the rooms, so I didn't really do anything other than flying after work. This week it's been a lot quicker, most rooms have only taken about 30 mins. Multi tasking helps, I'll empty the dishwasher in the morning while waiting for the toaster to pop, do little jobs during ad breaks if I'm waiting tv. I'm also trying to have a one touch policy, so instead of getting the washing off the rads and putting in a pile to put away later, I take off the rads and put away immediately, the post gets dealt with as soon as I come in and whatever needs filing gets filed, envelopes into recylcing etc and anything that needs posting gets put in my bag ready to post the following day, rather than just putting it in a pile to deal with later.

I also find that doing a bit in the morning and a bit after work helps too, that way I end up doing 2 x 15 / 20 minutes sessions rather than one long one. Plus everything comes around once a week, so if you don't have time, it's not a big deal it'll come round again next week. Every little bit helps, even if you just do as much as you can in 15 minutes.

  • Ok. Mon and Tues did everything on list. Tues night i get a phone call asking me if i want to work the rest of the week which is great (i'm not in a position to turn down the money or the experience even if i wanted to) but that was the end of my housewwork for the week.

... however i did manage to keep tidy the kitchen and hall/stairs done on mon and tues which is amazing, yey.

Have a whole week of work next week so my aim is - half hour of moggins list after ds is in bed and before i am!
Millions long for immortality who don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

Oh, i'm guilty of this one! I remember when i was much younger and still living at home. I used to smoke out of our bathroom window, which involved me standing on the toilet (can you see where this is going?). One day, i was having my sneaky fag when the toilet lid shattered and I went head a*se over teat, one foot down the toilet, fag burning a hole in the carpet.

Suffice to say, i was not popular!
