  • Do any of you manage to achieve all this and work full-time, and run 2 teenagers to all their evening activities?!

PLEASE let me know how you fit it all in if you do.

Feeling a bit of a failure compared to alot of you guys.

I don't work at all, my son has learning diffculties and I am his registered carer so after 3pm when I collect him from shcool I get nothing done.. literally nothing! I have from 10am until 2:30pm to get everything done.. 4.5 hours isn't bad I guess.

I'd have teenagers helping, (I have my 2 year old helping!!!).. they are capable of using all appliances/washing pots, etc.. some of the mess is theirs after all!! Bribery is my favourite and much abused tool!!! lol It isn't right if they are expecting you to do everything as well as work. On weekends we all work together to keep the house clean, we all live here so it is only fair they help me and themselves.

I bet in a couple of hours you could make the majority of your house spick and span if you worked together!! Once it is tidy you could allocate tasks to each person in order to keep it that way.. it is much easier to keep it tidy once it is already halfway there!.. Unless it is my back room which looks like tazmanian devils reside there!!

Anything you do to get done is something that wouldn't have changed if you'd done nothing.. be proud of the little achievemnts.. we are just sad and have nothing better to do than runabout the house all day mopping and twinkling and scrubbing.. we are just a bunch of scrubbers!!

Keep it up.. and remember every little thing counts.. including washing yourself!!

When I worked full time we had part time teenagers and the house was always a tip. I just did Sunday night tidy ups and seethed with resentment a lot.

Now work two and a half days - but have two toddlers. I manage by making myself work to rules. No switching PC on in the morning till we are all dressed, the DW is emptied and the WM is on for example. For me the aim is not to be spotless, but to not be embarassed when there is a knock on the door. Struggling since moving to bigger house and increasing work hours, sp know what you mean.
