Yeah I know what you mean about the allowed thing, makes me want another more which is bad, I'm happy as we are, and it wouldn't be right to bring another into the family, not yet anyway, wouldn't be fair on my 2. I nearly lost the oldest, my body doesn't like carrying babies full term, both boys had reverse flow through umbilical cord late on. Second pregnancy was scans weekly and constantly being fussed over, I hated it! Consultant was fab, I saw him in his private clinics free as he saved the first one really, but just don't think more is a good idea.

Mine were all prem, bar one.

DS2 had 2 cardiac arrests in his first couple of hours.. hence the problems he now has.. I am thankful these are the only problems he has, it could have been so much worse.. he was 1 minute off being classed as 'stillborn', thankfully he took that first breath!! DS3 ruptured his own membranes with his own hand.. how we don't know! DD3 went from hunky dorey to severe fotal distress in about 3 seconds.. they gave themselves 5 minutes to deliver her before the brain damage started.. she was out in 3 with a huge gash across her head. DD4 was a saga and a half, she was laid in the strangest of positions.. she had one foot behind her bum and the other on her forehead!! My innards hadn't been stitched when delivering DD3 (which of course I didn't know) I had 3 contractions, massive bleeding.. my bowel had been ripped apart, and my stomach muscles (I thought I only had flab so there you go!) and everything else.. that was fun fun fun! .. There I was singing on the operating table while they stitched my torn bits together again.. 'Crowded House' it was that I was singing.. funny what you remember!

I discharged myself and shorty after 2 days as well because I couldn't be doing with all the hassle and fussing!! I am a nightmare!!!!

Well done flyboy, not a bad start at all :D

Pigpen, and you went back, now that deserves a bravery award!

I sang 1 2 3 4 5 once I caught a fish alive as they were counting the instruments back 'out' after the Csection for DS2 :o. DS1 I had to be asleep, they didn't think he was going to make it to be honest, but for all he's complicated with the Autism etc I have to just be thankful he's here.

Amazing what we have to go through to have our kids, but what doesn't matter as they get older.

I still have their cot :o and a few other things I have hidden, as DP made me part with a lot as his friend's GF is expecting, and nephew got the clothes (but I got them back when he was done with them :o ) this time it's got to stay gone as I have nowhere to store the 18 sacks + I had kept (counted 18 on the second week of clearing, didn't count the rest). Part of me joining this thread was to declutter. The youngests 6 now :o
One day I might be more organised...........

Evening all, and hi to all the new people too.
Cannot believe that I already did nearly all Moggins' list already, even down to sorting out the cupboard under the sink. I am sooo not a proper flier but that pottering over the w/e was useful. So all I have to do is clean one light switch and dust 2 light fittings - pigpen I am a shorty too but I have one of those telescopic dusters;)
Anyway, bad news when I got in this cold evening was that I had NO heating or hot water. I phoned the plumber but only got the answerphone so left a snotty message about how he was probably having a soak in a hot bath. Don't try this at home unless your plumber, like mine, is your close relative, installed your system himself and has a sense of humour.:D
Good news was that he called back quickly and managed to get me to sort out the fault on the boiler myself by giving me instructions over the phone. We were both proud when I managed to shift the critical valve thingy without it dropping off and got the heating to come on.
stefejb, I loved your comment about having to export shredded wheat to your dad abroad. I worked in Switzerland years ago and we had to go to the food hall of the poshest department store if we wanted exotic stuff like baked beans. Anyone going home on holiday had to promise to bring back weird foreign muck:rotfl: like the baked beans, Birds custard powder, Colmans mustard etc etc. We also had to give long descriptions of what Indian or Chinese meals we had eaten - there was nothing like that in the area where we were working.

Wow you two, and I thought I'd had problems delivering DS2. He was extended breech and 9lb 6oz. Emergency caesarean followed a 14 hour labour and he took 5 minutes to breath! DH thought he was going to have to phone everyone to say we had lost him. We've always thought his difficult birth had something to do with the AS :(

    Awful isn't it.

Mine was 2 months early and took 20 minutes to breathe on his own and 5 minutes to get his heart beating again at delivery.. only to stop again about an hour later!! took 15 minutes for him to breathe then but thankfully just a few minutes to get his little ticker ticking that time! (3.5 DAY labour!! longest EVER.. I was shattered!!) ADD, learning difficulties and growth hormone deficiency.

the one after him was 6 weeks early and fine.

the next one was 2 months early (3lb 10) and had severe reflux and lactose intolerance.. I was accused of neglect etc for 3 months.. then he stopped breathing and was rushed to A&E and he got a proper Dx.. he is the aspergers one.

the next 3 as far as I am aware are fine though the older 2 of the 3 are lucky to be alive!

Needless to say.. I'd have another 2 given the blessing!

Right hubby is home and I MUST go sort this loo.. and check on the pea sniffer!!! DW here I come!! lol

Flaked out after today. I can't imagine how I shall manage working full time and trying to keep up with the house (that's if I can persuade anyone to employ me...) Enforced slavery from everyone else in the family I guess!;)

Bathroom done on return from school run, cooked dinner, and prepared a casserole for tomorrow. Am seriously considering a slow cooker, and have been researching in OS, but bit confused about the sizes. Any recommendations for a family of 5, with two large and hungry teenager boys??

pigpen Those are some birth stories! My boys were both late (and have continued to be...) and DD early. I wasn't well for months after DS1, nasty hospital infection, and very nearly didn't have any more. Glad I did!:D

Busy for the next three days, so will do my best to do a bit, or catch up on Friday.
