:rotfl: my friends daughter who is 6 and very intelligent some how ended up with a sticker up her nose yesterday, she was telling me tonight how she didn't believe her, but when she took her to see the nurse there was a pink sticker firmly up there. My kids didn't do that, in fact I used to brag about it as my sister put anything anywhere she could, inc salted peanuts up her nose and regularly Mam would find her with something in her nappy, until little one was 5 and stuck a cigarette end in his ear.. no idea why!

With regards to the clothes etc, I use an approach taught to me by a headmaster of a special needs school in Scotland, called the DIRM approach. Everything that happens take a step back and think Does It Really Matter! That guy was inspirational to say the least!

From another one of the 'presumed insane' brigade (seeing as nobody came I must be)

Oh and I will go and tidy the kitchen after my dinner settles, I must learn to be a tidier cook, always looks like a bombs hit it after dinner.

I am a great fan of the DIRM brigade.. that's why my house is a state, my children are filthy and I have 8 children.. does it really matter if we have one more???? NNNAAAAHHHH!!!! see... I am incorregible, I am just spoilt!

My brother used to stuff his duvet lining up his nose, one bit at a time and regularly had strands of hollow nylon fibre pulled from his snuffler. He is 27 now and last year had a massive ear infection. He went to the GP who plucked a piece of paper from his ear which must have been in there almost 20 years.. brother said his hearing really improved after that, he'd always assumed he was just a 'bit deaf' in that ear!! He is ginger and has to be excused!

DS had a trip to casualty when he was 2, after stuffing a pea up his nose - they were going to operate as we couldnt get it out, when he fell of a chair, started crying and all the snot made it come out - the following week i caught him sticking another one up there - got that one out pronto!!!! (his dads ginger, but DS isnt, but maybe we should blame him, he causes enough probs!!!)

:rotfl: @ Pigpen's brother, that made me giggle

Personally I am only allowed one more (2 c sections) I do adore my boys, but they can be hard work and couldn't put their poor sensory problems through another child, oldest attacked DS2 every time he cried when he was a baby, well tried to anyway, and still have to hold him back if babies cry now or cover his ears (or I would be fostering by now)

See I knew there was a reason for them all being in one place at one time :rotfl: I think I'd need time out if I had 8 kids. I've had time out twice so far today, hence sat here now! If I didn't have to listen for kids I would be wearing ear plus for bed.

Here's an ewwww thinking of things in places, friend had ear infection, went to get who extracted a lot of fluid, then a HUGE spider who'd decided to hide in her ear and died!
One day I might be more organised...........

c section numbers changed ages ago.. you are 'allowed' 5 now.. but it actually doesn't make any difference how many you have. I hat eit when they do the 'allowed' thing.. makes me snarl!!

I know someone who's had 6 and someone else just booked in for her 4th.

I can understand the sensory issues though.. my middle boy spends half his life with his fingers in his ears!

I would be humbled as you've all got soooo good at it :o:o:o

I'm getting on top of things slowly, tyring to follow all this, butdoing dailies AND Moggins' demands are simply too much (I am a chap after all, can't walk and chew gum at the same time, me :o )

Can we have one that isn't so intense. I only get a couple of hours iun the evening.......

Yeah I know what you mean about the allowed thing, makes me want another more which is bad, I'm happy as we are, and it wouldn't be right to bring another into the family, not yet anyway, wouldn't be fair on my 2. I nearly lost the oldest, my body doesn't like carrying babies full term, both boys had reverse flow through umbilical cord late on. Second pregnancy was scans weekly and constantly being fussed over, I hated it! Consultant was fab, I saw him in his private clinics free as he saved the first one really, but just don't think more is a good idea.

Flyboy you could just dilute them yourself, surely not everyones fridges etc need doing weekly if you're out a lot, but no kidding I can do Moggins list in half an hour now, at first it took loads longer, but now as long as I don't go silly like today and empty all the kitchen cupboards etc, half an hour max!

LOL at you lot, DD has never tried to stick anything up her nose but the day she swallowed a screw and choked on it sticks in my mind. People always think you'd panic but it's strange how your mind clears and all that remains is exactly how to keep your child alive :D

You've all done really well but just to make sure Pigpen gets the chance to do the living room I shall switch the days around :D See, I am nice to you sometimes.

TNG just do what you can, it will get faster as the weeks go on!

:D good good because I am out tomorrow too, but I had tried to be cocky and done a lot of it today as I knew I would be out in the morning :( see every time I get smart it changes !! Bah!

Screw, bloomin heck I can't imagine the panic! I did a first aid course last year to top mine up but booked for the paediatric one as my sisters kids are always doing something like that, especially the terror tot nephew!
