Does anyone else hate competitions that say 'tell us why you deserve to win?' I mean want to win ok, but deserve to? Horrible question. Is that just me?2018 - £562 2019 - £130 2020 - £276 2021 - £106 2022 - £1400

Is this enough of a time investment to see some sort of return? When I originally read the guide, it mentioned people entering 100 comps per day, and I can't come anywhere near that. Do compers with only a reletively small time committment see enough returns to reward them for their time?? Has anyone ever calculated a comps entered to comps won ratio?? What are peoples thoughts??
many thanks

Hi magicspice and welcome
To give you my perspective, that is about the same amount of time that I spend entering things (could enter more but then my house would attract the attention of Kim & Aggie!) I'm not particulary lucky as it goes so I would certainly not say that there is a "return" worth mentioning and if you're talking value of prizes alone won then I am in no way at all "rewarded" for my time! I have won maybe between £50-£100 of stuff in the time I've been comping (which has been spotty as I have had exams but is at least 2 years and I must have entered a good few thousand in this time). Of this, one prize made up the bulk as I won 2 football tickets worth about £17 each. Suppose then I'd guess my comp to win ratio is something like 1 to maybe 750.
HOWEVER, I treat it as a hobby and certainly do not expect to win anything. The way I see it, the time I spend entering comps I'd only be sitting watching TV or doing something else on the internet anyway, and I enjoy visiting this forum, so in that way I do feel that the time spent is rewarding, just not financially or materially if you see what I mean!
Of course there will always be people that do the same as me and have won many more prizes and I don't know how these people do it! I have been known to check my roboform to make sure I've not mistyped my email address but sadly it is A-OK, I'm just unfortunate! :rotfl:0 -

Hi, sorry, I'm sure this is in the wrong place! I'm doing the Radio Times Big Film Quiz and have searched unsuccessfully on here for a thread, I'm sure there must be one. I have all the films but am a bit dubious over two, the rope and the moon. Which I have as being Hithcock's The Rope and the recent film Moon. But they just don't seem right as all other films are I believe oscar winners. Any one point me in the right direction.0

I can only find this one, but it ended on January 4th. If it's a new one it may not have been posted yet.

I don't think it is on here. A poster talks about it here (and offered to start a thread, but can't see it) on another thread for radio times posted by midnighter, but the two comps. are not connected.
