I came across a magazine that charges a subscription fee to enter comp?
Does anyone on here use this service and is it worth a shot?
Just wanted to hear your views on it.0 -

A lot of places do not accept 3rd party or automated responses. A lot say one-per-person and ask for an email validation.
Personally, I would stick at doing it yourself. At least you haven't wasted any money if you don't win, plus, you get more joy out of instant win comps (well I do) seeing it as you play.December Wins: £300 worth of board games, £500 Tesco Vouchers Best Win in 2023: £500 Tesco Vouchers0 -

Just after reading your post, I read this one it is aimed at people between 18 and 23, so might be right up your street.0 -
Be careful re writing stories, budding authors?, I seem to remember there was a scam about regarding this sort of thing - can't remember what it was off hand, if I remember I will have a google tomorrow - unless someone here recognises it. Not seen it for a long while. You'll be safe with stuff posted on MSE though.0

There was a recent thing where lots of us got a email to say they have been chosen to put their poetry work into a book. The email did make gullible people (like myself) believe they were one of only a select few who had genuinely been chosen for writing some good verses, but far too many had got the email for it to be genuine. In reality it was a scam to get those people to write something and then buy copies of the book for themselves and family and friends.
There is often genuine writing competitions though, look for titles saying 'effort' in the comps forum.Big thanks to all who contribute to the forums. Be lucky everyone and be safe!0 -

Not sure what kind of stories you like to write, but many of the womans style magazine (my Mam gets) reg offer money for writing stories, Peoples friends, My Weekly, the type which often have lots short stories rather than puzzles/real life articles in, hth.My light may be on, but that doesn't always mean I am looking at the PC - I am far more likely to be cuddling or feeding Tianna atm, so please don't think I am ignoring you if I don't reply quickly

Thanks Wingoblins I knew there was something, but just couldn't remember just what.
I always work on the "forewarned is forearmed" scenario, and hopefully if FeyFanGirl comes across anything like that, a little lightbulb will flash, as it did with me.0 -
