One-Eye you were right to be cautious. Article in Penn & Sommerlad Investigate from the Daily Mirror here:
http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2011/06/maddened-by-new-id-studios-mak.html

Mirror reporter Sarah Brook went undercover to New ID Studios and the first point we'd make is: read the small print. Their terms say you'll lose your £25 deposit not only if you don't turn up, but if you don't stay for the photo viewing session, which could be fours hours after your initial appointment starts.
It's possible, we found, to leave without buying the pictures, but the haggling doesn't make for an enjoyable experience. Initially Sarah was encouraged to buy five pictures for £500.
She declined and was then offered an extra five pictures for free, and the bargaining eventually went down to three pictures for £25.

Definitely one to avoid at all costs.

So I have started comping AGAIN, never really got into it before. So after spending a few days entering lots&lots I saw someone said not to use an email address that could identify your age or location and it could affect you being chosen. Is this true because mine has 90 at the end for my birth year.

Surely the winners are picked totally randomly!?! :O

Edit - I'm thinking of making another email address but would I be disqualified from comps if they saw me using the same details but with a dif email? ( i don't mean entering the same comp twice).

I'd say that it is pure anecdotal & not to worry at all.
My comping email has a number in & it is in no way tied to my dob & I have won major prizes in the past.
Most promotors will be very careful to randomly & fairly pick the winner.Your email address will not make a jot of difference.Mine has no details that relate back to me whatsover.
I'll have a dig about & find an extract of an email I receive to show how most promotors will fairly select a winner. It was a major holiday prize so quite a nice win :-)

Here it is:

A few weeks ago you participated in entering the competition and I am delighted to inform you have won the first prize. Congratulations!!!

The promotor had an outside verification firm pick the winner so there can be no bias for any style of email or age group. So long as you satisfy the terms you can win :-)

I would not think they would care, just so long as it is a new comp. Each comp will be judged afresh & your details viewed afresh.I have two levels of comping email & save the gmail one for the high value prizes. The hotmail one is for the majority of entries though. That way the hotmail gets most of the junk.

• Congrats on the win!

I use a second email when there is no option given for opting out of receiving emails, or when the competition involves signing up for a newsletter. I have found that you only need to search this account for a few key words in order to find the WEM's, so there is no need to read all the junk.

Be careful thoiugh, I missed a big win because they hadn't used ANY of the words that you would expect in a winning email.
