many thanks to everyone for their fab ideas. I had my first ever attempt at home made bread yesterday. I just did the delia recipe and then made it into some little balls coated in cinammon and sugar ( not too impressed, think I must have done something wrong?) I then made a big round thing that I covered in cheese, ham, parsley and oil and it is the most delicious thing I have ever made! Am just cooking an apple braid now as I type so fingers crossed I havent messed this one up!!0

I plan to make marmite rolls tomorrow. I usually make marmite bread in the breadmaker but I will put all the ingredients in and take it out after the dough stage and bake in the oven.0

I put the balls into a greased 'ring' tin, and then let it rise a bit more then bake until golden. It makes the kitchen smell lovely and it's fun to share the balls of dough by pulling them apart. If you have a few spare pecans it's nice to mix them in with the sugar/cinnamon mix.
these are also very nice with dry toasted seed mix we use a mix of pine nuts, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds in place of the nuts mmmm0 -
The apple braid on this thread looks amazing, right up my street! Gonna have to make this week. So much for the diet0

I saw someone on Come Dine With Me make dough balls a little while back... they turned out like bullets, which was a bit disappointing.
Anyone know how to make them come out soft, a la Pizza Express? Preferably using Panny dough
Sorry, what a dull request compared to all the other exciting stuff above! My TV is broken!

This bread is lovely and the whole house smells absolutely amazing. I often set the bread maker to come on about 4am on a school day and it helps to get the kids dressed extra quick because they want 'some of that lovely bread'.
These are the ingredients - they just go on the bread maker in this order, and set to basic white (or dough if you want to bake rolls):
3 tsp Marmite mixed with 1tbspn hot water
275ml warm water (less 1 tbspn)
2 tbspn oil (I don't normally add this)
450g flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp caster sugar
1 tsp fast acting yeast
There is less yeast in this recipe because of the yeast in the marmite.0
