slopes in very quetly and a bit
, went to lidl and was good, bought a couple of extra bits that were reduced but spent £31.13, not bad, just needed to nip to sainsbugs for cat food, went to sainsbugs and spent £87.60:eek:, in my defence bought lots of chicken, sausages, sausage meat, xmas cards all very reduced.
Freezers are really bulging and should be ok for food for a few weeks, except for fruit and veg, also bought a new shower curtain as managed to rip the one we have and stocked up on cat food as it was on offer so shouldn't need cat food for at least a month.
ok i'm sloping off.0 -
Morning.
OH has taken doggie to vets for a check up to make sure she is healing ok, she seems bright enough and is eating ok.
DD is still not 100%, going to have a quiet lazy day, think Harry Potter has been mentioned, I think i can manage to wedge my bum on the sofa for a few hours eating chocolate and maybe a glass of wine, it will be hard but i will give it a go:rotfl:.
Have managed to spend £7.48 this morning online at Deb£nhams, bought some school blouses for DD and a fishing dvd box set for OH for his birthday next month, free delivery and a few pence back from quidco, bargain:D.
Really want to take down xmas decorations today, really starting to bug me.
So todays to do list................
eBay 3 items.
Hoover/sweep/mop all downstairs.
Take down decs.
Check v!vitic for survey (been neglecting).
Make scones.
Have 1 bid on one of the 3 Items that i put on ebay the other day, finish tomorrow but no watchers, oh well will just keep relisting until they go.0 -
Morning Penny, have taken down the Christmas cards and wondering if i should tackle the tree as well, so know how you are feeling!
Can't believe how fast this year has gone but i suppose a lot has happened!
NY resolutions anyone?
I'm hoping i can get DH on board with menu planning and the bribe is if he can spend / waste less by planning then he can spend the savings on better quality food, so a trip to the farmers market or on of the estate farm shops, we have quite a few around us here. Was thinking about it yesterday as i was grilling some bacon at lunchtime and it was so thin and shrank so much, so for all that it cost very little there was no value iykwim.
As well as that and reducing the portions he serves up (and i eat without any complaint...) i NEED to get walking more again. Had stopped a couple of months ago as it was so dark and slippy in the mornings before work, so i need to go for a walk after work and before i pick up the children from school when the light is okay.
Any recommendations for walking shoes / boots? Might be able to get something in the sales but need a few pointers please.
Right Penny what are the resolutions from you??

Oh PWPS
I have never had pet insurance, I normally have cats although I did have a dog for about a year before we got it a better home.
I do not have insurance for my cats but I think if I had a dog I probably would.
If I consider all my cats (I have 4 at the moment and have always had between 4 - 12 at any one time - can you imagine the cost )I think I have actually saved money by not having insurance, my cats have the usual scrapes that you wouldn't claim for anyway but 9 years ago I had a cat which cost me £4000+ in treatment . My excuse was that I was pregnant at the time and so hormonal could not think straight and could not bare to have him put to sleep. Once I had my DD I could see how stupid I was :rotfl:
Then one of the cats I have at the moment has just had treatment for a rare disorder, total cost of this was £600+ and he will need his other leg doing one day as well
These things are sent to try us aren't they.
Hope you have a good time today vegging out watching movies and eating0 -
I read this article recently, I was gobsmacked at what people will do for an insurance payout - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2067907/Owners-maim-pets-insurance-The-audacious-cruel-practice-fastest-growing-fraud-Britain.html0

Afternoon Pennywise,
I did laugh at your sloping in and out with your spends yesterday!!!! I hope that freezer door wont shut with all that meat you bought :rotfl:.
Oh no to the huge vet bill. We have pet insurance and tbh ive probably paid out well over £2000 and never claimed yet (touch wood we dont need to either). Chin up, hopefully the bad will stay in 2011 and from tomorrow good luck will come your way xxMummytogirls x0
