Hi Pennywise
Moshi Monsters are a big feature in our house as well, DS and DD were fighting over the computer the other day as they wouldn't take it in turns. Hope DS is feeling better.
Have a fantastic christmas xxxx0 -
Hi guys, hope you had a fantastic christmas.
Had a great time at the inlaws, except for DS waking the whole house up at 3am on christmas morning, could have killed him. Lots of lovely presents recieved by all, ate too much, drank too much and just enjoyed it.
So now we are back to money saving etc, checked survey accounts this morning and have ordered a £10 Tesc* voucher from Valu£d opini*ns, so that will go towards next years challenge, also recieved a cheque of an aunty for £25 for xmas and as this won't actually clear into account until after new year i'm adding this to the challenge money.
Recieved so many chocs and tins of biscuits that i'm hopeing to keep jans grocery budget down as these don't need to be bought.
Right off to make soup for tea, everyones sick of rich food.0 -
Hello Pennywise,
Glad you had a lovely time away. Sounds good that youve loads of stuff left over, that certainly will come in handy over January :T. Roll on 2012!! xMummytogirls x0 -
Hi PWPS
Have been a subscriber on your other thread.
Just wondering if I can join your little challenge?
Up there ^ somewhere you said not to count wages but I have a second job which I only have to do once in a while as it is relief so just wondered if I am allowed to count that?
Also are we counting vouchers as I do surveys and used to take in money but think I will take in Amazon vouchers ready for next Xmas?0 -
Morning E_E, of course you can join the more the merrier, add in anything you count as extra payments from main income. I don't count my wages, housekeeping i get from hubby or child benefit, everything else i count, so ebay sales, money and vouchers from surveys, tesco clubcard vouchers, gift money (christmas ,birthday etc), nectar points.
I'm actually getting really excited about starting this challenge, am i sad :rotfl:.
So today is going to be a lazy day, planning on doing little, going to play games with the kids and maybe do a budget for the first quater of 2012.
DD has an extra riding lesson this morning at 9.30am, DD is paying for this out of her christmas money, she asked me the other day if i would book her in for an extra lesson and i said i couldn't afford to pay for anymore than her usual lessons at the minute, she said no mum i will pay for it out of my xmas money, bless her she is horse mad.
Really going to try and stay from the Big supermarkets until next week, i am going to go to Lidl on Friday for bread and veggies for the weekend and try and keep spends low. Today we are having HM soup for lunch with crumpets and for tea pie, chips and peas, i stewd up the dodgy pears and apples out of the fruit bowl yesterday so will turn them into a crumble today.0 -
Nipped to library after DD had been riding, ended up spending £2 on renting 2 dvd's for the kids, then nipped into spar to get potatoes and fruit, spent £8 exactly did also get some reduced sausages, veggies and fruit juice.
Had a phone call from hubby at work to let me know that the older dog we have is in the vets being stitched up, he was walking the 2 hounds this am and they shot off after a bunny, older dog got its leg caught in some barb wire after trying to jump a fence, god knows what its going to cost:(.0 -
Oh Penny, sorry about the dog. Hope it's okay.
Good job you've been so good on the budget.
In theory i have a vet fund for our dog but it never happens so i do dread anything happening with him...
At £35 on onepoll, so doesn't look like i can reach £40 before the new year, boo as would have liked that boost on my Dec total!

Hi PWD- hubby just rang and dog has come through operation ok and is all stiched up, she had slashed the inside of her leg quite deeply, farmer that OH works for has let OH put bill on his farm account at he vets, gives us a bit longer to pay it that way.
Does your mother always buy you dodgy gifts then?0 -
Hi Pennywise,
Oh no to the dog, theres always something isnt there! Thank god he/she is ok though and its only a bit of stitching. Our dog is due his injections soon and im going to get the vet to look at his paw. He keeps nibbling on it as if its itching or something and its looking a bit sore now.
Well done on the £8 spends in Spar and bless DD thats so sweet that she wants to pay using her own money xxMummytogirls x0 -
Morning Penny,
That's good about getting a bit longer to pay the vet, hope the dog is okay.
Oh yes my mother has upsetting me at Christmas down to a fine art, mind you this is the first year i am definately not going to stay with her and therefore i haven't shed a single tear, getting a bit more strategic about things as i get older!
Every year i get a man's t-shirt, this year it is an off white man's polo shirt, so i don't know how long she's had it in her stash! The stupid thing is she has really expensive tastes so why Christmas always has to be a Scroogefest for her i don't know. The last time i went to stay with her i came back with a brand new Barbour that she'd bought in a sale, so i do get nice things at other times of the year!
The parcel to DH from her was a boy's fleece age 3-4 years - !!!!!!??
Anyway, not going to get hurt (ha ha) and will stay away until well into January, she lives about 200 miles away.
Right happy thoughts! DS seems to have lost various crucial bits of Harry Potter lego, ggrrr. Oh someone else gave them moon sand, i opened the box yesterday and then quickly said it looked like something was missing, eekk is that stuff as messy as it looks? Will be appearing on ebay very soon!Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs
