  • Well, it's bubbling away at the mo and it doesn't even look like 5 green peppers are involved?? More like 1. I guess it's because there's so much other stuff in there! Yum! x

What!!?? Does that really work? That's ace!

I think as long as the window sill is sunny, and you leave it long enough, it should work.
I cant wait to try it :D

Get a packet of 17p tesco own brand tortillia chips. Line a baking tray/ glass dish with the chips, cover with left over chilli, sprinkle with cheese (if you are posh enough to own cheese!lol!) and heat in the oven.... BEST LEFT OVERS DISH EVER!

I always put green peppers in with a Spanish Omlette; fry with the onions.

Guess what I'm about to do, yep, stick the green peppers on a window sill and see what happens, not much if this rain continues, but if they turn into red ones I won't need to to disguise them from oh, unfortunately I can't make him eat his dinner in the same way I do with the kids!

I'm going to buy a green pepper today to see if it works turning red in the sun!

As for green pepper ideas I second the fajitas idea or spanish omlette.
  • Lol did anybodys pepper turn red? It's been lashing with rain here so I don't think I'd have had much luck anyway lol.

Update: Chilli was wonderful but theres an awful lot of it. And no freezer. So we're eating lots of chilli!

The tortillas sound lovely but we're on a diet!

Yep the green ones do turn red - discovered this by accident, I also buy the mixed pack and the green ones get left over. The b/f put the bananas in the fridge after we'd been shopping (men eh :)) and next time I looked the green pepper was turning red! I put it in a stir fry and it looked really pretty with its half red, half green self! So try a banana too they make things ripen

You could make a delicious egg and pepper curry.

Chop a medium sized onion finely and lightly brown with a dash of oil. Add half a tin of tomatoes and leave to gently simmer for 5 minutes. Add spices to your taste (chilli, turmeric, garam masala, salt, pepper etc) and throw in the small cubes of green pepper. Leave to gently simmer for a further 5 minutes. Once the pepper has softened throw in two/three eggs and mix in until the egg has cooked how you like it. (I leave mine to cook until the egg has gone hard as I don't like runny egg).

Serve with either boiled rice, pitta bread, chapatti etc

    + cheap
    + quick
    + easy to make
    + delicious
