    Hi MoneyQueen,

You defintely haven't offended me, in fact reading your latest post everything you say makes sense! I envy you for this closeness in the kitchen! Much as DH and I adore each other, I just CANNOT be in the same kitchen with him while cooking, he is the ultimate perfectionist - professional fault, being an architect he deals in millimetres even when chopping carrots, and it takes him AGES, so I have to leave the kitchen to avoid screaming in frustration!

But, the positive side is that when he makes a stir fry all the pieces are perfectly uniformly cut!:T

I hope you have a wonderful wedding anniversary and please accept my apologies for posting in quite an insensitive way, not knowing the full facts!

    Thanks everybody..

Caterina, My DH was the same and then I "made" him watch some TV Chef videos and not he can chop veg like a Pro ;)

Pitlanepiglet, Ozpig looks lovely. Another on the list ;)

I am now the proud owner of a Kenwood Chef Premier. Bought it yesterday from Costco for £186 and then spent the evening looking at the recipes with the book that came with it.

Just need to buy the Pro Slicer now

Barneysmom those sausages look fab.Do you have a special recipe and where do you buy your skins from?

Thanks, I just got them from EBay, from a company called Design a sausage, they are pretty good, I got the seasoning from them aswell and you don't need quite as much as it says on the instructions. There's about a year's supply in the pack I reckon :)

The meat was shoulder of pork which I got when it was on offer at Tescos.

I am very lucky to be the proud owner of a Magimix 4200 and Kenwood Chef Titanium. The Magimix is excellent at chopping veg etc and for pastry making. The Chef is fantastic for making bread and cakes, the Chef liquidiser is also better for soups than the Magimix. I bought the Kenwood with the intention of selling the Magimix but I much prefer using the Magimix for slicing etc. so I will be selling the Chef slicer / shredder attachment.
I also have a breadmaker which the Chef has made redundant. I love my gadgets, they are expensive but I got them both at a good price. I always wash the Magimix bowls by hand as I don't like the idea of subjecting them to harsh dishwasher chemicals.
I see them as an investment, and my family love the food which I produce.

I still haven't bought one yet. So c'mon, which is the best all-rounder? :want my confused smiley back:

What about getting the Magimix with a blender attachment (if it doesn't already come with one - my food processor did) and then buy a little hand mixer? That way you get the best of both worlds without taking up too much space and/or costing the earth.

my new cuisinart arrived several days ago and I have so far used it for cakes, brownies, red cabbage casserole and so on. So far so good. The cakes rose very well and the 4 lemon drizzle cakes that I made in one go were simplicity itself. The motor is very powerful and seems to cope with anything. I even tried slicing tomatoes, while I was playing with it and they were nice and even

The whole lot is easy to wash etc and it takes far less room than the kenwood with accessories

If I were starting again with a young family I would not hesitate to get the kenwood chef, it is more versatile with the accessories. The cuisinart suits me better now but it is horses for courses

I've got a stick blender and an electric whisk. :D

So have I. In fact I have two stick blenders and an electric hand whisk, and a Kenwood Chef and a food processor.

Some might say I have a problem :rotfl:

I use my Kenwood Chef mainly for bread making, cakes etc I would miss this machine the most. The stick blender is ace for soups as it saves washing up! The Magimix is used less frequently but it does a brilliant job of shredding etc so I wouldn't part with it. I love my gadgets and keep them out ready to use - Some might say I also have a problem.

................... and I have a hand whisk too.
