  • Ye im in ireland to and with meteor, who allow 200 web messages. I have a program called AFT which allows me to send my free 200 web messages from my phone for only 1cent each. Pretty handy, i'll be setting my phone up with a dual card sim card holder when i move over in a few weeks. I'll then just get an English RTG sim and use that for English texts/calls and my meteor simcard for Irish texts home (which will only cost me 1cent!)

12p on a o2 contract £35 or above of it you add ITS for £2.99 for a sub £35 contract.

Or 16p per message on a sub £35 contract.

I would prefer to send from my mobile but if it's true about the not allowing for java applications i suppose there isn't really any other way around it! o2 seem better at the international thing though, i think you can use minutes on your contract overseas too. May consider getting an o2 sim card. Thanks for all the suggestions. If anyone has any other solutions, please post them! Thanks x

world-text giving server not found right now.

I am trying the O2 free service - not bad but

    1. It does not allow recipients to reply directly to their messages back to your mobile like Yahoo used to,
    2. UK only.

Anyone know which service allows the sms to appear to come from your own mobile like Yahoo's did?

Well I have also been asking this question and especially is there a service that allows the recipient to simply reply and it goes to your own mobile. Now there is - 18185 (and 18866) both now have a fully international texting service from their web page at 1p per minute to seemingly all countries.

We used to use Skype for SMS, but it costs 4p against 18185's 1p for SMS anywhere in the world. Main benefit of Skype we found is Skype Out voice calls to a phone - not the cheapest but sometimes they get through with clear quality when 18185 won't.
