I don't like driving on snow and ice!.....just thought I would share that!
Horrible journey to work this morning because some people can't drive on the white stuff at less than 70mph, but hurrah, it was a balmy minus 6 on the drive home tonight! Just home, and have a well earned glass of wine in hand, tomorrow will finish the shopping, rummage the freezer to see what food we need, no turkey dinner as I am working all weekend so we will do a posh feed next Tuesday if the kids can fit it into their hectic social calendars!
Been thinking of Jackie G today, glad it went well and Pat got a good send off!
Hugs to Dazi, thinking of you too, I miss my darling dad every day but never more so than at this time of year.
    RIP Iain

    Good Evening everyone
jackieg Hope today went as well as could be for you and your family
Dazi Sorry to hear your news I lost my lovely Mum in December 1962 and we buried her on her birthday which was Christmas Eve so i know how hard it is at this time of the year, even after all these years I have never forgotten that Christmas

I have had a super day and Mikey was brilliant although his 'Here sheep come and see the baby turned into 'Oi sheep' which went down well in church :):) Bless there something about the naturalness of young children when doing the Nativity that it really doesn't matter if the kings crown falls off (today) or Mary gets a strop on and throws the baby in the manger (as happened last year :)) the story is the same and the kids all sing like angels and there's not a dry eye in the place with all the Mums,Dads,Grannies and Grandpa's all beaming at the little ones. When the kids come in the church they are all looking to see if someone has turned up and their beams when they see a familiar face is worth the walk across in the freezing cold to church.
Then I had another grandson (Jack) to lunch as he finished early from school .So I filled him with bangers and chips and bread and butter .Then Ben turned up also on his way home (via my house as he knew he would get a lift :))We picked the othet two up and got home frozen to the marrow as the wind was biting cold.Once thawed out with hot toast and tea we all felt better.Ben chose a Chinese takeaway for his birthday dinner (I had a curry as I'm not keen on Chinese food)and then we all had a slice of Bens chocolate birthday cake and sang to him.
Whilst I was there my eldest DGS Danny texted to ask if he can come for breakfast tomorrow after he's dropped his girlfriend off at the station. So I have to be up and doing a full english for him at 7.30 tomorrow.he wants to tell me all about how he is getting on with his job and what he's bought for Chloe for Christmas,no rest for Granny even on her weekend off :):)I don't mind really though as he also is a good lad.I am hoping to get to sew Chloe's 'blankey' up as well tomorrow then I only have to knit a border all around the edge I am hoping I can get it done in time for Christmas, fingers crossed.Right well I'm off for a read of my new library book 'The Thread ' by Victoria Hislop I liked her other stuff so this looks good I picked it up in passing today as I had ordered it a fortnight ago.I really could do with a 36 hour day to cram everything in.
Well good night God Bless all here and stay warm if you can
