    Morning everyone,

Chucking it down with rain in Hastings this morning. At least we missed the winds last night, they veered off to France thank goodness!:T

Have DGD today. She woke at 5.45 saying "Zippy" at the top of her voice! She has become obsessed with "Rainbow" recently and I found A Zippy soft toy in our local charity shop. She is now carrying him everywhere with her!

Sky man coming later to install a Sky + HD box. Had a DVD recorder but it has packed up, so decided to go for a sky + instead. Got £100 worth of M & S vouchers too, so that's not bad:T

Saw my Nurse on Weds. Water infection has at last gone, just need to get over the MS relapse:rotfl:

    Dazi ((((((((((hugs)))))))))

JackieG thinking of you all today

JackieO hope you feel better soon

  • Hi Ladies,

It's been a long time since I've posted on the Daily and lots has happened since but my life is going to be changing very dramatically mid January and I'll be retiring under ill health. Well, technically I'll only be starting the journey to retiring under ill health as I'll be starting sick leave and will be expecting the pension to kick in within the next six months - any longer than that and who knows what we'll do!

I've always been an OS'er, sometimes more than others, but I've took home a good wage for a long while and it will be a shock to go down to such a small amount of pocket money per week. So i'll be going as OS and spend free as possible for a while - wish me luck!

I'm looking forward to not working, although my OH is convinced I shall become depressed and be desperately sad and want to return to work so I'm hoping to become a regular poster in order to give myself a small amount of schedule etc.

In short, for those who don't remember me:
    • Live in Nottingham with the adorable MrSunflower
    • No kiddiewinkles of our own but 13 nieces and nephews with another on the way
    • 30 years young
    • Have 4 wonderful chickens (Rosemary, Hyacinth, Daisy and Violet) a Kittie and a tortoise and lots of tropical fish
    • Mobility, Pain and Tiredness issues
    • Handy DIYer and enthusiatic (but not terribly good) crafter
    • Reguar hospital and GP attender
    • Old and drafty house with (used as little as often) central heating and gorgeous coal / wood fires
    • Organic as much as possible and a non meat eater (do eat fish though) and have a veg box delivered each week.
To prove I'm already OS I will admit to owning and using:
    • Wally Trolley
    • Slow Cooker
    • Breadmaker
    • Free Bus Pass
    • Allotment
My OS plans for today actually aren't terribly exciting, I've got a hair appointment so that will mean a trip into town but I am planning on a NS day other than this. Dinner will be veg and stilton pie, hassleback potatoes and veg. I also need to do some chores. I wrote myself a rota for this but I'm not really following it, then pacic at the end of the week when I've done very little and it's overwhelming! I also need to have a look at fixing a lid onto our coal bunker too as the tarp keeps blowing off and my coal is getting soggy.

Hugs to those in need of them.

    Morning everyone.

Epic fail on behalf of the weatherman. We've just had a snow shower and that's it. Nada. Nothing. No frost (it's 3 degrees), no ice just damp <rollseyes>

Not sure what plans are for today, the usual housework, need to make my friends kids Polar Express bells (check out homepage for what they are if you're nosey ;)) but that needs to be when DD is at school as she'll be [STRIKE]interfering[/STRIKE]helping and since my two have one each don't want to spoil the magic....
H will have to fend for himself for tea, I am off out. Again. Get me having a social life :rotfl: it's my tap class Xmas "do" so looking forward to a xmas dinner :j
    Nowt else to report :o

    Hugs and spoons all round.

JackieG - How lovely that you have snow. Be thinking of you all today. Much love xxxx

Dazi - Glad you are signed off work til after Christmas. Much love to you too xxxx

Sunflower - sorry to hear you're having to retire due to ill health, keep posting xx

(((hugs))) jackieg snow does sound beautiful for the day
    jackieo glad you're getting better

It's snowing in London today but it's that horrible wet sloppy stuff and isn't settling. I'm waiting for yodel to collect some parcels from me today, but I also need to go out to photocopy evidence for the OU and get bank statements of my 3p interest for them.
I've been thinking about my finances for next year and how much I can save for masters fees by September. The answer is probably not all of it but I'll try, get my !!!! back in the GC and get really tight.
Living cheap in central London :rotfl:

Huge hugs for all who need or would like one.
We have had our first 'snow' if you could call it that.
Dd off school, bless her she has woken up with a rash all over her. Think its just a virus and thats how it has chosen to come out. Doesn't look like anything nasty.
Last day of school today so ds1 took in his teachers Christmas cake that I made her. She says she cannot cook and really wanted a Xmas cake when we went to parent teacher meetings at the beginning of the school term so muggins here got the job. She is a lovely woman so I don't really mind. Its laced with brandy so have sent a little note in saying not to drive when eating it;);).Would hate to be responsible for her getting pulled over and points on her licence:cool:.
Talking about driving , ds3 had another driving lesson today , he is doing really well. His instructor has told him that he will soon be ready to book his practical test.He has his theory on 23rd dec.
Just waiting on 2 presents to come through the post and wrap them and thats me finished, just the food shopping to get, will do that middle of next week. Cant really be bothered but hey ho needs must.
Hope you al have a safe and warm day today:)

Edit........just to say my UTI is under control at last thank goodness. Tmi I'm sorry

Postie just been , there was a card for Dd from her holiday romance. Bless him a Funky pigeon card and a box of thortons chocs. So she is on her laptop sending him one. Found a 50% off code for her to use ;) need to use it in this economic climate;);)

    Morning all!

Sun is shining and sky is blue here, so will be taking advantage and getting into the garden and cutting some greenery for the house before the rain appears again! No snow yet, but seems to be all around us.

OS stuff today: making a Christmas wreath - this could go horribly wrong tho! Putting greenery around the house, tree is up now and it looks all twinkly and lovely :) Then it's the usual round of cooking, cleaning and washing! Utility needs a good scrub out, dog sleeps in there and it's more than a bit muddy! Must do a white wash, else dd4 is going to have no vests or babygros for bed tonight - have tried to be sensible and not overbuy stuff for her, which is great spacewise, but does mean remembering to get her stuff washed more often! btw I'm not a smelly mare, I do do a fair bit of washing, just most of her stuff is white, so needs a seperate wash, and there isn't always enough white stuff to make a load - well that's my excuse ;)

Have dough in the bm, with chilli, garlic and herbs, think I will make some mini pizzas or wraps for dinner, not decided yet, and mealplan has fallen off the fridge and is not to be found!

Right, time to find cutters and wire and get making! Have a good day all, will pop back later for a read through xxx
