  • its not a banking review as such - you have to be seen by a qualified adviser yes, - as in no one on counter can open accounts, nor are suthorised to certify ID. Imagine peoples faces if accounts were done at counter. The booking system allows 1 hour for every appointment. it is often not needed, but I can tell you it is at times when customers want to do loads and ask a million questions

the adviser does the bank account

and then at the end - has to key another form for the AATS transfer that you sign, once you had credited the account to order card

new account coming out on 19th Feb too (Ultimate Reward) - that has to be keyed by adviser even to redesignate, as involves insurances that only the advisers as FSA regulated

Just applied to switch to the moneyback current account. So I should get £100 for switching to one of their current account plus I will get moneyback for using my debit card. Sounds good to me.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance....
  • I have £46 accrued moneyback at the moment!

will not redesignate to the new account just yet as otherwise I will lose this moneyback, but after anniversary, may well do

    regularsaver1,

Thanks for your insight into this offer.

I have a question that you may know the answer to...

I think I have two current accounts that I'd like to, er, switch. ;)

Just how closely linked, if at all, are Halifax & BoS systems - and do they share the same AATS department?
  • They do share the same AATS department as they all use roll numbers beginning in D/

but Halifax and BOS are still different, so worth a try - as long as you can do dd's to each and do the £1000 to each?

    Thanks for that.

I've just remembered that my wife has a couple of current accounts as well. Shuffling £1K around for a few months to generate a 40% profit sounds good to me. :D
  • I expect many of the MSE users (like me) opened the A+L premier account to reep the benifits of free european travel insurance regular saver, free overdraft etc and left all of their DDebits in another account, just paying in the minimum £500. Having been with A+L for just shy of a year now I think I may switch to this account in the Halifax. My question is - If I open the Halifax account and instruct them to take the DDebits from the A+L account and thier isnt any, would they not pay out the 100 squid?
  • I doubt it - as they get the list from A&L
  • So I need to set up one standing order then or a DD?

Just set yourself up a couple of £10 SO's to one of your other accounts. Make sure they're actioned at least once before you return the transfer form.
