I think I can do a similar thing with my dormant FlexAccount but would only be able to set up one standing order without hassle before switching - would that be ok, do you think, or are they looking for accounts with both SOs and DDs to switch? Item 2 in the terms and conditions for this offer mentions both but does not state that you have to have both before they'll switch you. Anyone else heard differently?0 -
I've just had a look at your link but don't know how I fit in. My income is not regular. I'm self employed and receive payments from a publisher at irregular intervals during the month, also receive rent from 2 properties, but tenants now changing, so details will change.
So can't put down a regular name or date for income receipt.
I could recycle £1,000, not a problem. Don't know if I tick all the boxes.
Since most of my SOs are to Regular Savers, I wouldn't want them to be messed up because changing over can cause delays - I'm just wondering if anyone has had good/bad experience with changing accounts. £100 is tempting.0 -

Sillychuckie wrote:Hi all. I have applied for this.
I have a question about the switching process however.. (switching from A&L prem direct acct, currently with 6 standing orders and 1 d.debit set up).
Do they:
a) Clone the ddebits and s.orders, but leave them active in A&L account.
b) Clone the ddebits and s.orders, but delete them in A&L account.
c) Clone the ddebits and s.orders, and CLOSE the A&L account.
If c, is it my responsibility to get the money out of the A&L account, or do they transfer that too?
Thanks.
They will transfer your standing orders and dd's from your old acc to your new, and then write to confirm all is done and up to you what you do with your old account and the funds. just don't close old account until all set up0 -
Don't worry about existing pipeline application for the account
The AATS forms (Automated Account Transfer Service) are sent to the AATs team in Galsgow, by a branch or from the sorting office in Leeds - it is them that will credit the £100 and work on transfer
so if you opened account in last few days , if forms are received by AATS team by now they will qualify0 -
YorkshireBoy wrote:Hi danchloe,
Could you tell me if they automatically close the account you're switching from?
QUOTE]
They do not have the authority to close your other account, nor move any funds from it
just direct debits and standing orders
oh and credits if you wish0 -

Because an AATS can only be done on a full facilities current account
so not a student either0 -
Just answered my last question! Phoned Halifax and no, there is no requirement regarding the number of standing orders and/or direct debits set up on the account you wish to transfer from. They told me that an account with just one standing order set up on it would make the transfer process a lot easier (and therefore quicker) than usual.0

The Halifax branch I went into today to set this new current account up insisted I had to have a "banking review" meeting with an advisor for which I had to make an appointment. Was told to allow 1 hour:eek: Has anyone else had this??0
