I personally believe in God and am a Catholic, I feel no need to justify my beliefs to anyone, but if someone tries to convince me otherwise or tries to push their athesist agenda onto me, I will defend my religion and my choices.
It is absolutely your right to defend your beliefs. Healthy debate can only be a good thing, as long as everybody is respectful and keeps their minds open to new ideas.

I don’t necessarily believe in god or heaven or hell (though I like to think there is something after Im dead!) however, I do have a question for the believers…

When you see paintings of Adam and Eve, do you not think its odd that they have belly buttons?!

I see what you have done there..

Religion is based on ancient stories some of which predate the "birth of christ" by thousands of years.. if they had wanted to be original they could at least have made Joseph give birth rather than copy numerous other "miraculous virgin births"..

Yes I do think it's odd.

A bit like Torry is doing, she won't answer me either. If there are no answers from Christians about this and Science has proof of evolution with Homo Erectus and Homo Habillis and the others then why should I listen to Christians who have no answers?

    So Torry? .
  • Good post Lazer. I haven't posted much on this thread because I feel that people have been deliberately rude and offensive. When I disagree with people on here, I am never rude or offensive to them. Why should Christians defend their beliefs to people who are not prepared to afford them - at the very least - politeness in discussion? We're not going to change your minds, just like you won't change ours.

That these species existed I have never questioned. Can we call them pre-cursors of mankind I doubt it very much. Satisfied, of course not you will only see that as me being blind to the truth.

You state in your table there were THREE wise men. There is no such passage in the NT stories that says how many Magi there were. It comes from depictions in art (and later nativity plays) to conveniently depict each of the gifts being handled by an an individual.
