OOH, advanced when you were 7, then there's no doubt you're right. Whilst I appreciate your efforts, your absolute desire to try and find a personal fault to someones argument makes me think that you have very little faith in your ability to argue a point. It might also be worth noting that my use of language was always correct. I assume English is not one of the three languages you speak well.

BTW. I'm not a recently published author. I've been published for a while. But good luck.

Why are you taking my question as in insult? It was a genuine question and one which it turns out was based on fact. English isn't your first language and on occasion it shows enough for someone that you are conversing with online to be able to realise that. That isn't an insult and you shouldn't take it as one. I can guarantee you that your English is a lot better than my German or Irish.

However the nasty, passive aggressive response to the fact that someone could guess you weren't writing in your first language is disappointing. Why would you respond like that? It certainly doesn't seem very Christian. Thanks for the best wishes on the book though. It was my first attempt at a novel and I'm astonished by my success.:) Congrats on yours too. It's a great feeling isn't it?:)

why dont you share what your book is?

excellent comeback, and truly validates your point. At no point does this post make you look like you're clutching at straws. "She may have written a book on ohhh, anything, but if she hasn't then I'm right about both language and religion".

No, I didn't mean practitioners praying/offering to pray for people. I meant how do you feel about when people pray for healing and seek medical care as well? Just interested.

Oh my... I started speaking English when I was 2 and a half, and then was educated in English schools from the age of three. Are you seriously suggesting that I am somehow incapable of understanding the language or being able to communicate in it effectively? You in your quotes have made a far broader range of mistakes in the English language than I have. Should I then assume that although English is your first language, you're perhaps a bit dim?

why would it be my comeback? it was a question, not a comeback. so why dont you share your books title? because you havent written one is the obvious answer.

no wonder you enjoy tacitus so much.;)

I think whatever floats their boat. We all search for different things in life and if praying gives people hope, then go all out I say.People search for physical healing, but they also need spiritual healing (whatever that may be) so for many people saying a prayer feels like a big hug in a bad time. I have no problem with that, just with people that refuse medical help and rely on spiritual help.

I see where you're going with this, but again, this is a government. What SCRIPTURE asks this of people?

No, this is the religious council. Your question was about religion, not scripture. Religion is not solely made up of scripture. Religion is largely based on the socio-political desires of religious leaders justified by the interpretation of the texts by religious scholars. (It's not coincidence that many countries currently have or historically have had joint political/religious leaders.)

You appear to have faith, scripture and religion very confused.

There is a big difference between typos and completely misconstruing the meaning of something which you have done at least twice on this thread. I wasn't sure if it was a deliberate attempt to mangle the language in order to confuse the debate or if it was a communication failure due to you using a second language. I gave you the benefit of the doubt that it was the latter and asked for clarification.

YOU chose to interpret that question as an insult and despite me telling you numerous times that it wasn't have proceeded to insult me repeatedly. You're perhaps incredibly insecure and/or nasty?

Ok thanks for that. I would agree with you that people should not turn their back on medical help. The medical and spiritual can compliment each other.

I really don't , I think I've quite clearly stated that I believe religion to be flawed and scripture to be man made, I just happen to believe to believe that faith is a wonderful thing.
