Thanks for the reply chrysalis1976. I'm not the most patient of person and it's such a long, hard journey but I know it will be done soon. DH pays for so much and I don't like feeling so dependant. Been lurking on your diary, you are do so well.
Thanks for the reply skinny latte. Oh the declined cards, such a horrible memory. I had this happen at the vets once and had to run home to get one of my credit cards. I don't have any now so I always check the bank balance before leaving to do shopping.
I'm feeling much more positive today with a go getting mood. I always do after being a moody so and so. I'm going to get the housework done then make some bread. I want to try and do some decluttering to try and find something to eb4y but there's not much which is suitable really.
I also want to look at some cookbooks. I've become so bored with food and need to find some different things to make, ideally from food in the cupboards and freezers. Plus I would like to make some biscuits as I don't tend to end up stuffing down loads of the homemade ones.;)
Right off I go and get started after a cup of tea.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

229 days to go:eek:how did this happen.
Morning diary
Plans, plans, plans.
Feeling very positive today. I'm determined to make a huge difference to the house today whilst making time to play with the little one.
Firstly washing up and ironing. Then a big tidy up, mopping the floors and vacuuming. Oh and pop to the shops. I also would like to mooch in the cellar to see what I have to do some decorating in the house. The bathroom needs finishing and to be honest the whole house could do with redoing but we are planning to get it retired soon so no point really till it's done.
I also need to find something to use as a sealed pot as I have rejoined this challenge and will stick to it and save something this year coming.
Need to get going before the doctors appointment first thing.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Glad you're feeling in a positive frame of mind today, I think keeping busy helps to refocus on plans.

I have these grumps now and again chrysalis but they tend to pass quickly. I do noted to learn to have a bit of patience though.;)
Blimey I'm hungry today. I can't stop nibbling on stuff. I'll never loose weight at the rate. I blame the cold weather. At least this will stop when I'm at work tomorrow unless I treat the students to a packet of biscuits ( it's just me and three students, not a class full).1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

Had another LBM today. I have been paying off debts for many years but haven't really formed any routine with money. I have no emergency fund and always end up paying bills from one months money rather than saving for them. Today I had to get 6 months road tax which isn't the best this close to Christmas.
So a challenge for me. I need to start saving for an emergency fund and work out my annual bills and start saving monthly. I have allocated all money this month so the actual savings will start from Decembers pay which I should get before Christmas (we always get paid early). Also my car insurance is due in January. I have shopped around and can halve the cost. I would like to pay this off in one go for the first time in years, we shall see. I do have a tax bill due in the next round.
Right off to work out actual figures and sort out saving pots/accounts. I'm looking forward starting on a more grown up financial future.:T1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

What a lovely sunny day.:) makes everything feel so much better.
So every month towards the end I decide that I'm going to do a spending diary. I really need to come down on cost if my future plans are to work. Anyway I do it the first day then forget. So I have decided it may help by starting now and get into the swing of things. Also I would be January before I start a proper one and a little more back to normal after Christmas.
I'm feeling very positive at the moment and want to do everything I can to stay that way. Organisation and procrastination are my biggest problems so a spending diary will help with the organisation at least.
I'm determined to make next year the new start I have wanted for a long time. I will be debt free, want to be self employed and just find a since of calmness without the burden of huge debts hanging over my head.
I have been thinking lately how I have lost so much of my 20's and all of my 30's to this horrible debt cycle. I will be damned if the whole of my 40's is ruined too. I want to hit 44 with a new life ahead of me. One full of hope not terror and hopelessness.

Thank you skinnylatte.
I can't believe I have stuck to the spending diary this long. I know it's only a few days but I have never got this far before.
So thankfully I have broken up for Christmas.:j:j:j but still have some paperwork to do at home. I want to spend the next three weeks doing as much as possible and getting the house sorted.
I have joined the frugal living challenge to try and cut as many costs as possible. I feel that I'm beginning to get more control in all areas of my life so now is the time to push further.
Anyway spending the afternoon on MSE is not going to be the most effective use of time, but lots of fun.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%

you have insufficient funds in your account
Ahh.......oh dear it's been a long time since I have seen this old 'friend' flash up on the screen of a cashpoint. On a positive note I'm already back from the local shopping centre and I didn't set off until 9am.
So tomorrow is payday and I have a bunch of money coming out for a few thing so next month is very lean and it's a five weeker.
Plans for today.
Wrap presents - I don't get many so it shouldn't take long and I have wrapping paper left from last year.Done
Look at January budget. I had already done one but this will need a lot of trimming to make ends meet.
Panic - no what's the point it doesn't get you anywhere.still not going to do
Go to the post box.Done
Do a store cupboard inventory and see what can be made an how little can be spent on the Christmas shop.
Ha ha just had an email from the money advice service. What timing eh.
Anyway petrol fumes and £3.29 left on the gas until tomorrow. I hope it stays mild or it's trouble.
So off I go and gets bits done before the little one comes back from nannies in a couple of hours. I don't usually dump him on folks but she insisted as she hadn't seen him much this week so I took advantage.1 debt v's 100 days chapter 34: T3sco bank CC £250/£525.24 47.59%
