Morning,
Payday for me today, should give us just enough to last until DH's payday on the 15th.
Feel like poo! I seem to have developed a rather nasty cold and I'm not happy about it...I don't have time to be ill.
Had a NSD yesterday so made a grand total of 8 NSD so far, I might hit 10 NSD's this month if I'm lucky, I need to try harder next month
Had a go at my LD tutor, she threatened to withdraw me from the course stating that I'm not doing the agreed amount of study and causing all sorts of hassle. I explained that I have been doing the course (I only have one maths module left to complete) and cannot see how she thinks I'm not doing the studying. She's pushing me to complete the last module when it's not due to be completed until the 8th March. I'm due to speak to her next week so we will see what she comes back with. I just want to finish it now and get rid of it.
Need to sort out my budget for next month today and do some maths.
Have a good day everyone x0 -
Hope you're feeling better today and the sums are going okay. Not long with the course, just that last push.:j
You're doing great:)Debt £26k 18/10/140 -
Morning diary,
Haven't been on this week, as the week has not only been very cold but its been hectic too.
Okay, the first half of this month is costly due to a number of things:
DH's car – he had a bump and it wasn't worth putting it through the insurers as it costed nearly the same as the excess to fix it so £380 there.
We had the gas/electric bill...£454.74...the initial bill was wrong, so I'm going to look around again once the new one comes in.
I have an eye test tomorrow, I haven't had one for three years as we've been short of money. I'm having trouble seeing so really need new glasses, with my high prescription new ones will cost in the region of £400.
I fully expect the credit card bill to bump up again...sigh!
So that's the bad news out of the way, on to the good stuff:
I've finished the last module (sort of), I have a workbook that needs to be completed and then I can move on to revision and book in for my test.
I've put out a few applications for TA jobs, so just waiting for a response from them.
On the money saving side of things:
More money has been put in the demi-john
A few more £2 coins have been put in the other pot..I was going to put them on to the budget card once I had £20 worth but have decided to leave them to build up a bit.
More 20p's have been put in the pot and I'm not sure how many I have in there now lol.
So a bit of a mixed week all in all, not happy about the money situation as I feel like I am fighting a losing battle and everything is against us...but I am happy about other things and hopeful that this year will be for us.
Right off to get motivated, I can't mope about on here all day, I've got work to do.0 -
Morning,
Well what a mixed weekend this one turned out to be.
The bad news:
I didn't get one of the TA jobs I applied for.
I had my eye test and my prescription has changed and I need new glasses.
We are in dire straights money wise (nothing new there).
We had snow
The good news:
My prescription although has changed now means that I no longer pay for eye tests as I have a complex prescription (not happy about it but saves us £40)
It's one week to DH's pay day
My mum is coming down for a visit for half term
General stuff:
I need a way to make money and cannot think of a way to do it, I'm applying for TA jobs but nothing is bearing any fruit yet.
I need to go through the finances and see just where we are over spending and see if we can reduce it.
The gas/electric bill should arrive this week, so I can try to find a better deal for us, I'm willing to split the bill and go with two different companies if it will save us money.
I need to place the food shop for half term when DH gets paid.
My aim this week is obtain 4 NSD's and to get a menu plan done for the week.
I hope it doesn't snow as I'm hoping to walk a bit this week.
Reduce my alcohol intake...I have to sort this one out.
So a very mixed weekend all in all, I feel like I'm losing control and can't do anything about it. I don't feel positive and I don't feel like I am getting anywhere with reducing the debt, maybe I'm going about it all wrong and need to step back and look at it from another angle or maybe I should just plod on as we are and see what the worse is that can happen.
Going to get dressed and sorted for school and think about things.0 -
Thanks atlonglast I will look in to it. x0

My morning has gone from bad to worse.
I went to take the kids to school only to find that my car has a flat, so rushed them to school walking and trying not to slip over (not a good sight) so DS was late in to class but fotunately DD's teacher was letting them in early.
Came home, tried to pump the tyre up but it wasn't having any of it. Spoke to DH and he suggested I got his car from the station and use that for today and he'll change the tyre over tonight.
Went to station, found DH's car, got it started but couldn't get it to move as it was sliding...car next to me...not a good idea. After much feeling sorry for myself and talking to DH managed to get his car free and drove home and been to work.
So now it looks like we're going to have to buy a new tyre! Not impressed.
On the upside, I haven't spent anything yet. x0 -
Morning world,
Well after my diasterous day yesterday, DH mamanged to pump up my tyre and over night it has stayed inflated, so I'm taking that as a good sign.
On the money side of things:
3p added to the demi-john
counted up the 20ps in the pot and there is a nice sum of £10.60 in there
Oh and I had a NSD yesterday
On to today:
Not a NSD unfortunately, I have errands to run after work but will be a low spend day.
Need to get the washing done and the washing up done
Need to do meal plan for the rest of this week.
Talk to my Learn Direct tutor about the next steps.
Sort kids/DH's lunches
Should keep me quiet today.
Have a good day everyonexx

Fingers crossed for a better, more relaxing(?) day.

Morning,
A much better day yesterdaymy car tyre stayed inflated, I had a good call with my LD tutor and I'm now on revision (my test feels scarily close now!) and my TA certificate came through the post, I feel like I am a proper TA now (just need to look at jobs).
So on to today:
I've got work and volunteer work.
Go to see DS's teacher after school
Sort out the washing
I had a look at changing gas/electrcity suppliers and the best I can do will save us £20 a year, I don't know if it's worth changing for that, I think I will have another look.
Should be a NSD today, I have nothing to get.
Have a good day xx0 -
Morning,
Feeling a bit down today. Been thinking about the credit card and the finances in general, every time I try to do something to get on track something comes along and balls it all up. For example, the gas/electric bill and my glasses, they have to go on the credit card as we've nothing in reserve to pay for them.
I was hoping that this year was going to be ours (for a change) but doesn't look like it. I've done the TA course but its looking doubtful that I will get a job out of it.
I just want to cry, scream, punch something. I know that's not the way to behave but I'm frustrated!
One good thing is that I have one more get up and then it is Half Term, my mum is coming to visit and I will not have to do the school run in the cold for a week.0
