Blooming heck it's windy and cold out there! We made it to school and I made it back in one piece despite being wind blown
Spoke to the school and explained that DH gets paid next week and was it possible to pay for the Fun Friday lunches for the term next week and was told no problem, so that eases the finances a bit this week...I can keep the whole £6.50 for a little while longer anyway.
Just had some breakfast and I'm having a cuppa then off to sort the kids beds out, whilst I am doing that I will set the desktop computer going and by the time I get downstairs again it should have sorted itself out (hopefully) then I can do an hour of maths before work.
I forgot to mention that its DH's birthday at the end of this month so I will need to factor that in when I sort the finances next week.
Right off to get motivated again. x0 -
Glad you made it back in one piece Purplemum and didnt get blown away like Dorothy ! It really is miserable out there isnt it ? Just looked out into the back garden to see it covered with recycling.....hmm not much fancying the job of clearing that up.
I'm glad you get to hang on to your £6.50 for a little while longer, I have been trying desperately to keep hold of my £4 but purse was raided this morning by DD1, so that was the end of that !!!
Hope you have a good day and get everything done .

Cor what is it with me and updates today?
Anyway, most of my list is done, I have two bits left to do which I can't sort until the shopping arrives.
I have had to splash out on some draught excluder foam tape stuff for the conservatory doors, the doors lead in to the lounge and I never realised until today just how draughty they are. I told DH we need to reinvest in some curtains for there which should help....so now down to £3.
Tomorrow I need to visit my friend and sort through the dired washing and get it into piles so the kids can put theirs away.0 -
Happy Friday everyone!
Received an e-mail from Tesco to say that they had rejected the voucher that I used for the shopping due to the value of the order being less than the voucher amount…Sigh! £63 to come out of the account now instead GGGRRR!!! Oh well, nothing much I can do about it, just means that mum’s vouchers will get used over the next few weeks instead.
As a consequence looking at the approximate figures, we will have a deficit. There is a few things coming up this weekend that need paying too, which don’t help, I think if we are very careful we may just be ok, but it’s going to take some work.
I was supposed to be going to see my friend this morning; however I need to catch up with my maths coursework so I will nip and see him and his wife next week.
DH is working at the flying club on Saturday, which will help with the NSD’s side of things as I tend to do housework when he’s not at home lol
So on to today, my list looks like this:
[STRIKE]Washing up[/STRIKE] - Done
Sort dried washing
Sort dinner for tonight
Go to work
[STRIKE]Maths coursework[/STRIKE] - Done
Today will be a NSD as I do not need to buy anything.
Better get organised and motivated, have a good day everyone. x0 -
Hope you have had a good day

Morning world!
Didn’t get chance to update yesterday, first Monday back and it was hectic.
Anyway, I have managed 4 NSD’s so far, yesterday was the fourth one for meunfortunately today won’t be but hey ho; I have looked at the calendar and I doubt that I will make 20 NSD’s for the month but I will definitely come close.
I have checked the bank account and the child benefit has come in, this helps a bit and I’m less panicky.
I haven’t needed to put any petrol in the car as I have half a tank full still, we walked back from school yesterday and although we won’t be today as DS has an after school club today we will be on Wednesday.
Tesco order has been placed, I have used up the last of the vouchers my mum sent down so total order is about £80 I think, I still need to buy the meat for month on top of that but it eases the finances a bit until at least DH’s payday in February.
Not a NSD for me today, I need to buy some bits and pieces for DH I may get the meat at the same time as it will save me a job on Friday when DH gets paid…will see what time I get out of work.
I am having an alcohol detox; I drank so much over Christmas that I don’t feel right. I had my first alcohol free night last nightit was weird but I think I slept a bit better for it.
Right on to today:
Washing up
Work (volunteer & paid one)
Sort dinner out
Make lunches
Do errands
That should keep me busy for a while.
Right off to get showered and dressed and motivate the kids, have a good day everyonexx

Hi Purple, just popping in as saw you had visited my diary. :hello:
Next payday for us is 10 days away so trying not to spend as we don't have much left. Really need to cut the food shopping bill as that's where most of the money seems to go. Need to try and use more stuff in the cupboard up as things get forgotten about.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. Car loan 1 £10,546, Car loan CC 0% BT £5200. Debt Free Diary to try & keep spending in check.0 -
