  • Hello lovely people :D

Just popped in to wish everyone a Happy New Year :D Hoping that you all get what you are aiming for next year.

A couple of £2 coins added to the pot, a few 20p's added and a silver coin added to the demi-john.

Tree is down and the cards have been cut up for tags for next Christmas, the washing is nearly finished for the year and the conservatory doesn't look like a toy store any more.

    Have fun! xx

  • A blustery morning to everyone :) I can’t believe how bad it is out there! Hope everyone has managed to stay safe getting to work and those that are home, hope you’re not planning on going out?

So DH has gone to work this morning, a bit of a struggle for him as he’s had two weeks holiday. The good thing is that he’s taken his lunch and some chocolate/crisps too so should be a low spend day for him lol. I did feel sorry for him though having to go out in this weather.

Got a fairly easy day today, kids have got their homework today and I’ve got a bit of housework to sort out.

On the money saving side of things it looks like this:
Sealed Pot (demi-john) has been totalled up and there is £6.22 in there ready to start this year off.
20p pot currently has £5.60 saved – very surprised as I didn’t think I had saved that much.
£1 coins saved has £4 saved so far.
£2 coin Savers Club is up to £12 so far.
I have also signed up for the NSD challenge and am aiming for 20 this month.

So far so good….now the bad news – I have looked at the credit card and it looks like it has finally caught up and we have a debt of £11,592.15 (GULP!) Deep breath! Ok this isn’t so bad, it’s not good but it’s not as big as I thought it was going to be, so if I manage to pay off the £3500 I am aiming to this year that will bring the debt down to £8092.15 which is quite reasonable as long as we do not need to add to it during the year.

I’ve been talking to DH and it has been agreed that over the next few months I need to concentrate on getting the TA course and Maths course done, in order that I can then get a job on more money, which would then give us more money to throw at the debt.

Today should be NSD #1 and tomorrow will be one as my mate is dropping her boys off for the day as she’s got to go to work and I don’t relish trying to take all four kids out.

Right off to get organised, will update later once I’ve got myself sorted.
  • Homework , better go check childrens school bags.

    Have a good day.
  • Hi Penny,

Yup dreaded homework all done and dusted now and they are happily playing on the PS3...quitely for now lol

Have a good day too x
  • Hope you had a good day :) x

Are the kids back at school there then? They don't go back until next Tuesday here
  • Morning world,

Hidden – Yes most of the schools this way are back already, my two go back tomorrow (can’t wait!) I love them dearly but they are now driving me insane.

I have my friend’s two boys here today as their mum has to work (I go back to work tomorrow) so that should keep my two occupied for a while.

I have done a top up shop to be delivered tomorrow, spent £60 but used a voucher that my mum sent down, so total cost is just £3.50 delivery :) We have £120 worth of vouchers left to use that she sent down, so I’m going to try and eek them out, I need to buy a month’s worth of meat and bread as well as other bits so that will probably use up the last of them but will hopefully see us through until DH’s pay day in Feb.

I had a go at my math’s yesterday, I really need to try and concentrate on that as my brain fries easily when it comes to figures, I really want to get it done and out of the way then I can apply for the English course and apply for TA jobs.

Anyway on to my plan for today:
    Washing up
    Washing
NSD :) not going anywhere today
    Sort dinner out for tonight
    Sort lunches out for tomorrow

I’ve checked the finances and they don’t look good, I need to achieve a lot of NSD’s in between now and DH’s payday, I’m planning to do more walking as well when I’m not needing to use my car, so that will help with the money side of things.

I think next week I may attempt to do the Flylady again, even if it is only Level 1, I have more time than I realise and I need to utilise it effectively plus it will stop me going to Tesco’s and spending money!

Right, have a good day everyone.

Morning world, back to the school run and the usual routine :)

Managed a second NSD yesterday and thinking about it today won’t be one as I have the delivery charge from Tesco’s for the shopping to pay for and I have the kids lunches for tomorrow to pay for, at least it’ll be a low spend day.

I’ve looked at the finances and things are so close to the wire! Hoping DH won’t need to fill his car up as this will help on the money side of things.

    Things to do today:
    [STRIKE]Wash up[/STRIKE] - Done
    [STRIKE]Washing[/STRIKE] - Done
    [STRIKE]Change kids beds[/STRIKE] - Done
Sort DH’s lunch out for tomorrow
    [STRIKE]Send off DH’s expenses[/STRIKE] - Done
    [STRIKE]Go to work…boo![/STRIKE] - Done
    [STRIKE]Maths coursework[/STRIKE] -Done
    Sort dinner out for tonight

We are walking to school today, despite the yuckiness of the weather out there; should be interesting!

I have £6.50 in my purse so far, £4 of that I need to pay for the kids lunches tomorrow apart from that I should be fine.

Right off to get motivated and get the kids sorted for school, have a good day everyone.
