  • Hope things go well with your Dad. You sound as though you have a wonderful husband and lovely kids. As others have said they're the most important thing. Don't fret, I'm sure things will look up for you. Glad to hear of husband's confidence finding another job soon - just look upon this as a 'blip' rather than the end of the world (which it would have been for your family had you got too free with the pills!). Stay strong. Sending a hug.

Something serious from me for once! ;)

I know you said that the company was going into liquidity but you could maybe still get something! You put your name down and anything that is made from the companies assests goes towards paying it's debts including wages!

I'm not sure the term for it so am b*ggered to do a search but start a thread hun and some smart @rse will know what I'm banging on about. :)

I think SS means your DH is a creditor of the liquidated company which is true but the goverment scheme will pay out to the workers and they become the creditor.

    Typical! :p

Seriously (blimey do I always just take the !!!!!! coz whenever I want to say something serious I find myself having to type that:o ) I'm no mortgage expert but talking to your bank manager is better than just leaving a direct debit to bounce. They are @rseholes but it's in there interest aswell not to have to reposses your house.

Is there no chance of taking a mortgage break, or changing it to interest only for a while?

Blimy - a whole conversation going on whilst I was busy typing with one eye.

No we cant have a payment holiday or anything like - we;re still paying arrears of £100 off from when Andy was in hospital - thats on top of the normal monthly payment and that was decided by the courts when they issued a Suspended Reop Order so we have to pay every month.

The judge did however tell Andy that if there was ever any problem with making the payments to requeswt to see a judge so teh order could be varied???????? Don't know if we'll have time though.
Got to go to bed as falling asleep here.

    Sweet dreams everyone xxxxx

You see. No-one wants to see you lose your home hun and you won't if you keep your head out of the sand. Take control and it won't control you. :)

And lastly I know you don't need telling off but you can cut out all that killing yourself !!!!!!. You honestly don't know how lucky you are to have what you do. I'm jealous. Enjoy what you have got and bollox to what you haven't got.

    Sleep well. :)

Hi there Weller - just wanted to offer my ( virtual ) support too. I dont know where I have been in the past month but managed to miss this thread and have taken all night to read it. I just wanted to say that you are a wonderful person and mother and dont let anybody tell you otherwise. Im so sorry to hear about the redundancy but fingers crossed your hubby will find another job soon. I lost a job a few years back through the company that I worked for going into liquidation and I spoke to the receivers directly. They made a claim for my months pay and I did get the money but I dont think it came through for a while.
All the best and good luck - OOPS
